Two Busts and a Double

Level 19 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Daniel Rivera was all in and at risk preflop holding {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} against the {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} of the River Rock (Vancouver) Casino Champion, Sandra Wong. The board rolled out {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades}, and Rivera was eliminated. Wong now has around 240,000 chips.

At an adjacent table, Quan Nguyen was all in and at risk for his last 48,500 holding {a-Clubs}{7-Spades}. He was dominated by David Whitley's {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, but the {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop gave him a leading pair of aces. Nguyen held as the turn and river came {j-Clubs}, {7-Hearts}, doubling to around 100,000 chips.

At a neighboring table, Daniel Bishop won a very interesting race against Rogelio Salinas. Salinas was all in and at risk with {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} against Bishop's {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and the {10-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop changed little. The {k-Spades} on the turn gave Salinas a pair of aces, but any spade or five would send him packing. The {2-Spades} spiked on the river, giving Bishop a spade flush and sending Salinas to the rail.
