That's a Small Shove

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

"Bonsai" Mark Bonsack opened for 85,000 on the button and was met by an all-in three-bet to 960,000 from Sean Small in the big blind. Bonsack asked for a count and seemed interested, but he ultimately folded after taking for a couple of minutes.

The remaining four players don't seem to be in a rush, oftentimes taking between 15-25 seconds to fold their hands.

Waite Increases Chip Lead

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Mark Bonsack put in a raise to 90,000 under the gun and was called by Brendan Waite on the button. Both blinds released and the flop came {6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}. With a Bonsack check, Waite put in bet of 105,000 that was quickly called. The {8-Clubs} peeled off on the turn and Bonsack check-folded to Waite's bet of 255,000.

Waite now sits with around 3,250,000 in chips.

Waite vs. Hinkle

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Blair Hinkle opened for 90,000 under the gun and Brendan Waite defended from the small blind. Both players checked the {j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop, and then Waite check-called a bet of 65,000 on the {5-Hearts} turn.

When the {7-Diamonds} appeared on the river, Waite checked for a third time and ended up snap-calling when Hinkle bet 95,000. Hinkle showed the {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for a pair of sixes, but it was no good as Waite tabled the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for a pair of jacks.

Bonsack Sliding

Level 29 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

In the last hand before the break, Grant Hinkle raised to 90,000 on the button and Mark Bonsack called from the small blind. Both players checked the {9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop as well as the {Q-Clubs} turn, and the {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Bonsack bet 150,000, and Hinkle thought for about 90 seconds before announcing that he was all in.

Bonsack had 575,000 behind and leaned back in his chair. Eventually he stood and contemplated the decision for well over two minutes. "I fold," he whispered before sliding his cards to the muck.

Mark Bonsack Eliminated in 4th Place ($40,627)

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Mark Bonsack - 4th Place
Mark Bonsack - 4th Place

There's no denying Mark Bonsack's poker prowess here at the Horseshoe Council Bluffs. Last year he final tabled this very event and ultimately finished in fifth place for $25,127. Not only did he follow that up by making the final table for a second consecutive year, he managed to win a ring in between. Unfortunately, he won't be making it two.

On the first hand of Level 30 (25,000/50,000/5,000), Blair Hinkle opened for 110,000 under the gun and Bonsack shoved for 580,000. The blinds folded and Hinkle made a quick call.

Hinkle: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Bonsack: {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Bonsack was in big trouble and needed some help. According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Hinkle was a 70.61% favorite, and Bonsack had just a 28.97% chance of surviving the hand. The {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{K-Hearts} flop dropped Bonsack's chances to 16.46%, but the {10-Hearts} turn gave him some hope by delivering him a flush draw and bumping it up to 25%. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {5-Spades}.

Bonsack missed his flush and was sent to the rail in fourth place for $40,627, but he also left with the consolation prize of being the Casino Champion, which locked him up a seat in the National Championship for the second year in a row.

Small One for Waite

Level 30 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Sean Small opened for 110,000 on the button and Brendan Waite defended from the big blind. The latter proceeded to check-call a bet of 100,000 on the {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop, and then both players checked the {3-Spades} turn and {J-Diamonds} river. Wait tabled the {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Small flashed the {3-Clubs} before mucking his hand.
