We are halfway through play tonight, as the players are on their second break of the evening.
Kevin Boudreau had a disastrous start to this Day 1b, flight, getting knocked down to 3,500 in one of the first few hands of the night. However, most everything has gone his way since then, and he is now back up to 25,000.
Action started with a middle position raise to 800. The small blind tagged along, as did Boudreau in the big blind. The three saw a flop of , and the small blind checked to Boudreau, who fired out 1,300. The original raiser didn't take very long to put out a raise to 3,200, and it was back to Boudreau. It also didn't take him very long to assembled a raise himself, as he threw out a three bet to 6,500. His opponent thought for a few moments before kicking his hand in, giving the pot to the young pro.

Michael Taylor late registered for this event, and was never able to push his stack into the green. However, we just caught him taking down a decent pot that has pushed him back over his starting stack.
We caught up with the action on the flop, which read . Taylor's lone opponent in the hand checked, and Taylor fired out 900. He was called, and both players quickly checked the on the turn.
The river brought the , and Taylor's opponent immediately bet out 1,500. Taylor quickly looked him up, and his opponent confidently turned over , which was good enough for seven high. Once Taylor confirmed his opponent's hand, he rolled over for ace high, which was good enough to take down the pot.

We just lost one of the few bracelet winners in the field: Carter Phillips. Phillips was down to his last 10,000 when he raised it up to 525 in the small blind. The player in the big blind put in a three bet to 2,225, and Phillips took about 10 seconds before moving all in. His opponent shook his head a bit and shrugged before he made the call, and we had a race on our hands.

The board ran down all low cards, coming , and Phillips was sent to the rail. Phillips did not enter this morning, so he will have the option to come back tomorrow or Sunday morning.

It just wasn't a good day for WSOP-C points leader Rex Clinkscales. He was one of the members of the table of death, and he probably had the worst seat in the house, as many of the talented players were on his left. It also didn't help that Clinkscales wasn't running well, as he complained about having pocket kings cracked twice by and . Well his pain is over for today, as he has just been eliminated.
Since he did not play this morning, Clinkscales will have the chance to re enter either tomorrow or on Sunday morning before Day 2 starts.

Michael Sanders did not enter Day 1a today, because he was busy at the final table of Event #9, a $580 No-Limit Event. Despite starting the final table as the short stack, Sanders caught fired and cruised on his way to winning his first ring.
Well how does one celebrate winning their first WSOP Circuit ring? By playing more poker of course. Sanders took an hour or two to calm down after the big win, then he got right back into the action, late registering here on Day 1b. Can Sanders go back-to-back. We will keep you posted.
