Dangel Climbs Over 200,000

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Ivan Baric opened to 3,500 from under the gun and was called in four spots, including Georgi Dangel directly to his left. The flop came {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} and both blinds checked to Baric who continued for 7,500. Dangel raised to 35,000 and the action was folded back to Baric. He made the call to go heads-up to the turn.

The {7-Clubs} hit the turn and both players checked to the {2-Spades} on the river. Both players checked again and Dangel tabled {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Baric sent his cards to the muck and Dangel picked up a healthy pot.

Zisimopoulos Making Use of His Late Entry

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Georgios Zisimopoulos
Georgios Zisimopoulos

Georgios Zisimopoulos was one of the players to enter at the start of Day 2 and has made good use of his late entry thus far. With around 35,000 in the middle, the dealer fanned the flop of {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Zisimopoulos led out for 10,000 and his opponent made the call.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and both players checked to the {7-Spades} on the river. Zisimopoulos checked again and his opponent went into the tank for over two minutes. He finally put together a bet of 29,000 and Zisimopoulos snapped him off. His opponent tabled {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a missed flush draw and Zisimopoulos' {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} earned him the pot.

Grochulski Eliminated

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Among the next casualties were Andrej Desset, Andre Difelice, Jan Bendik, Thomas Zurek and Grzegorz Grochulski amongst others.

Grochulski got his short stack in with the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and was called by Marek Tatar with {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. While Grochulski flopped his king on {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts}, the {Q-Spades} on the turn gave Tatar a straight and the {7-Clubs} river was a blank.

Aleksei Ivanov started with a short stack of just 11 big blinds, and has since grinded that up a bit. After a raise by Hossein Ensan, Ivanov moved all in for 35,000 and Ensan folded, admitting in table chat he had ace-ten suited.

Darie and Ponce in the Lead

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Vlad Darie
Vlad Darie

The former big stack of Ben Bensimhon has vanished and Gerhard Brimmers confirmed a big clash with Vlad Darie that left the WSOP Circuit ring winner with dust. According to Brimmers, Bensimhon four-bet to more than 40,000 and Darie was the only caller while Brimmers and another player folded.

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Bensimhon shoved with {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Darie called with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for top pair and the nut flush draw. Turn and river bricked and Bensimhon was left with crumbs.

Jose Ponce is also on the rise and appears to be second in chips right nowl.

Cetindag Flops the Nuts

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

It remains unclear how Tezer Cetindag was involved in the hand, but he scored a vital double after getting his stack of 36,000 in after a flop of {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Paus tank-called with the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} to see Cetindag turn over {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and the {8-Hearts} turn and {4-Diamonds} river failed to cause a runner runner upset.
