Lowery Flops the Goods

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

After a limp in middle position, Daniel Lowery made it 2,100 to go from the hijack. The big blind called along with the limper to go three ways to a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.

The action checked to Lowery who continued for 3,500 and only the big blind called. The turn was the {6-Spades} and the big blind check-called another bet of 5,000 from Lowery.

The river was the {j-Diamonds} and the big blind checked once more. Lowery tossed in a bet of 11,000 and his opponent called. Lowery tabled {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a flopped straight and his opponent conceded the pot.

Peters Gets a Fold from Lee

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

Stanley Lee raised to 1,500 from the hijack and was called by Tobias Peters on the button along with the big blind. The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and the big blind checked to Lee who continued for 1,600. Peters called and the big blind quickly folded.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and both players checked to the {2-Clubs} on the river. Lee checked again and Peters flicked in a bet of 4,500. Lee peeked back at his cards and then slid them to the muck, allowing Peters to pull in the pot.

Nuwwarah's Straight Holds Up

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante
Mo Nuwwarah
Mo Nuwwarah

Justin Harvell raised it up from early position and Mo Nuwwarah defended from the big blind. The flop came {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} and Nuwwarah checked to Harvell who continued with a bet. Nuwwarah check-raised enough to put Harvell all in and he made the call for around 15,000 chips.

Mo Nuwwarah: {j-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Justin Harvell: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Nuwwarah flopped a straight but Harvell had outs with a set of queens. The {k-Spades} on the turn gave Harvell even more outs with the larger flush draw but the {2-Hearts} on the river bricked off to send the pot to Nuwwarah.

Back in May, the World Series of Poker Circuit wrapped its penultimate stop of the season at Horseshoe Tunica. The stop minted some big-time winners including Maurice Hawkins winning his record-setting 13 gold ring.

The stop culminated with the $1,700 buy-in Main Event, a tournament that attracted 466 entries and generated a $705,990 prize pool. Coming fresh off winning Event #9: $400 No-Limit Hold'em for $23,883, Blake Whittington went back-to-back to win the Main Event for $151,789, his fifth gold ring, and a seat into this 2019 Global Casino Championship.

“I'm elated. The week has just been unbelievable," he said at the time. "I just caught heat in the middle of the week. I had some deep runs, and I gained some confidence. It was crazy after I won the ring in the turbo [Event #9]."

Vornicu on the Rise

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

There was a raise to 2,000 from early position and Valentin Vornicu called from the cutoff along with the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and the action checked to Vornicu who bet 2,600. Both of his opponents called and the {a-Spades} landed on the turn.

Both players checked again and Vornicu doubled his bet to 5,200 this time. The big blind instantly folded and the preflop raiser also followed suit as Vornicu stacked another pot.

A Couple of Tough Hands for Bunch

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Eric Bunch opened to 2,100 in the hijack and the button three-bet to 6,400. The blinds folded and Bunch called to see a flop of {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Bunch checked to his opponent who continued for 7,200 and Bunch check-raised to 21,000. His opponent shoved all in for around 40,000 and Bunch mucked his cards.

In the next hand, Bunch raised to 2,100 again and was called by the same opponent. Stephen Song re-raised to 12,400 from the small blind and only Bunch called.

The flop fell {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Song led out for 7,500. Bunch thought for a moment and then decided to lay his hand down, as he slipped down to around 30,000 chips.

Lee Loses a Small Pot to Kings

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

There was a raise from under the gun and Bernard Lee called from the small blind. On the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop, Lee check-called a bet of 2,200 from his opponent.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Lee checked again. His opponent tossed in a small bet of 3,000 and Lee stuck around to see the {6-Hearts} on the river. Both players knuckled the table and Lee's opponent revealed {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} which forced Lee's cards to the muck.
