Raise the Roof!

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Thomas Alcorn raised to 55,000 from under the gun, and Bill Horsman called in the big blind.

Horsman checked the {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop to Alcorn, who bet 25,000. Horsman check-raised all in for 225,000, and Alcorn called.

Bill Horsman: {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Thomas Alcorn: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Horsman was outkicked with his queen, but the {7-Hearts} turn and {7-Clubs} river gave both players the same full house, and Horsman celebrated with his best approximation of "raising the roof" with his hands before returning to his seat.

Min-Min-Min Doesn't Win

Level 24 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Thomas Alcorn bet 25,000 on a {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} flop from the small blind, and Alan Percal in the big blind raised to 75,000. Alcorn called.

Alcorn led out for 25,000 again on the {k-Clubs} turn, and Percal raised again, this time to 100,000. Alcorn called.

"What do you have left?" Alcorn asked Percal on the {8-Diamonds} river, before betting 25,000 yet again. Percal jammed for 305,000, and Alcorn folded.

Last Break of the Night; Updated Chip Counts

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The final eleven players are off on a fifteen-minute break. When they return, they'll play two more levels before bagging and tagging for the evening.

James Over Two Million

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Robert James checked a {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs} board from the big blind to Nick Pupillo, who bet 150,000 into a pot of 300,000 from under the gun. James called.

James checked again on the {6-Diamonds} river, and Pupillo bet 250,000.

"Gross...cooler if I lose this," James said before calling. Pupillo tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for top pair, top kicker, but was crushed by the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} of James for a set of eights.

Winrich Gets Lucky to Double Through Horsman

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

David Winrich had his last 319,000 in preflop from the small blind and was at risk against Bill Horsman from under the gun.

David Winrich: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Bill Horsman: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Horsman's Big Slick held on the {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, but the {j-Diamonds} gave Winrich an open-ended straight draw. Horsman slammed his fist after the {8-Spades} river gave Winrich a queen-high straight, and Winrich said, "Sorry man," to which Horsman responded, "Not your fault. It's the cards."

Kenny Smith Eliminated in 12th Place ($8,140)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Kenny Smith
Kenny Smith

Kenny Smith jammed for 341,000 from the hijack, and David Cali three-bet shoved for 850,000 in the cutoff, chasing out the rest of the field.

Kenny Smith: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
David Cali: {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

It was all but over after the {3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop left Smith looking for running cards, but the {6-Hearts} turn and {k-Diamonds} river wouldn't help Smith, who wished the table luck before hitting the rail.

Raising War Escalates Between Apter and James

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Robert James raised to 45,000 from under the gun, and David Cali called in the small blind. Brett Apter three-bet to 245,000 in the big blind, and James went into the tank.

After a few minutes, he four-bet to 595,000, which quickly chased Cali out. Apter tanked for three minutes, counting up his remaining 980,000 in chips, before electing to fold.

Gallaher Outkicks Ware

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Kenneth Ware raised to 50,000 on the button, and John Gallaher called in the big blind.

Gallaher check-called a bet of 50,000 from Ware on the {4-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Hearts} flop, and check-called another 100,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn.

Both players checked the {3-Hearts} river, and Ware tabled {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Gallaher had that pipped with his {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, however, and took down the pot.

A Hand From Each Table

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Hand #1:

Brett Apter raised to 41,000 from the hijack, and was called by Robert James on the cutoff and Kenny Smith in the big blind.

Action checked to James on a {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop, and he bet 60,000. Both of his opponents quickly folded.

Hand #2:

Bill Horsman raised to 60,000 from the small blind, and Thomas Alcorn three-bet to 100,000 in the big blind. Horsman called.

Horsman check-folded to a 100,000 bet from Alcorn on the {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop, and Alcorn told Horsman, "I had queens."
