Zahir Messouat Leads After WSOPC Marrakech Main Event Day 1B
After 12 levels of 45 minutes of play in Casino de Marrakech, located in the luxurious and beautiful Es Saadi Resort, Zahir Messouat (lead photo) has bagged the biggest stack of Day 1b of the WSOPC Marrakech. His 30,000 starting stack multiplied by eleven: 324,500.
Zahir is still trailing behind Jose Luis Reconquista who built a 493,000 chips stack during Day 1A.
The French amateur has only one HendonMob result of $2,431 to his name, he will have a tremendous opportunity to add another flag during Day 2 of the 2019 WSOP International Circuit 50th Anniversary Marrakech 15,000 MAD (€1,350) Main Event, saturday at 1 P.M (UTC+1).
In order to take home a part of the 4,685,000 MAD ($492,979) prize pool, he must secure a place in the top 47 of the tournament. A min cash is worth 25,000 MAD ($2,630) while there's 1,000,000 MAD ($105,119) reserved for the winner.
Kamal Sefrioui (305,000), Sarah Herzali (150,000), Anas Tadini (131,000), WSOP bracelets winners Said El Yousfi (120,000) and Giovanni Rosadoni (110,500), EPT Finalist Bernard Guiguon (80,000) also found a bag for Day 2.
With the 166 entries from yesterday's Day 1a, and the 193 entries from Day 1b, the total number of entries stands at 359, including 129 reentries.
The day started slowly, as usual, with players enjoying the sun and pool first, but the number on the clock grew rapidly towards 100 players registered. When late registration closed after the dinner-break, the clock had 193 entries on it. At the end of the day, only 58 survived to form a 105-player flight for Day 2.
