The opening day flights are in the books, and Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Harveys Lake Tahoe $1,700 Main Event is set to go! The Day 2 restart begins today at noon, with 71 players coming back from the combined surviving fields of Day 1a and 1b.

With 64 players making it into the money, Day 2 will see just seven eliminations before the money bubble bursts. The top 64 players are guaranteed at least a min cash of $2,553.

What the field is really competing for, of course, is the WSOP Circuit ring and the first-place prize of $133,285. A total of 424 entries contributed to a total prize pool of $642,360 for this tournament.

The field will play through 10 one-hour levels today, and the players that remain at the conclusion of Day 2 will return to Harveys Tahoe Monday and play down to a champion. Play will begin at the beginning of Level 16 today, with the blinds at 2000/4000/4000.

Bryant Miller, the Day 1a chip leader, comes into Day 2 as the overall chip leader with 424,000 chips. Right on Miller's heels are Day 1b chip leader Alon Eldar (374,000), Joe Burke (357,000), William Chao (319,000) and Cezer Boylan (317,000).

Others still in the hunt include Joey Weissman (316,000), Eric "PowWow" Ethans (306,000), Wendy Freedman (306,000), Lee Markholt (266,000) and David Diiorio (254,000).

The ten levels of play today will include 15-minute breaks after every two levels, as well as a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level of play.

Mota Makes a Move

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

With {4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts} on the board, KC Amiraslani bet 35,000 from the big blind.

Mike Mota raised all in for his last 85,000, sending Amiraslani into the tank. Amirslani eventually decided on a fold, preserving his remaining 55,000 chips.

Copeland Doubles Through Mota

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Keith Copeland pushed his 35,000 stack preflop, and Mike Mota reshoved on Copeland's direct left. Mota had Copeland covered going to the showdown.

Keith Copeland: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Mike Mota: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Board: {6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Copeland didn't like what he saw when the cards turned over, but the {8-Spades} on the turn gave him a set of eights, which held through the river.

Burke Building a Mountain

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Joe Burke
Joe Burke

Joe Burke came into Day 2 near the top of the chip leaderboard, and he's approaching the half-million mark in chips in the first level of the day.

Burke added to the stack in hand against Michael Pearson. With {8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{a-Diamonds} on the board, Burke checked from the small blind, Pearson bet 11,000 from the button, and Burke check-raised to 30,000. Pearson made the call.

Burke continued the betting, putting in another 35,000 on the {7-Spades} turn, and getting the call from Pearson.

Both players checked the {q-Spades} river, and Burke showed {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} to take down the pot.
