Van der Swaluw Doubles Through Aerts

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

The board read {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} with around 10,000 in the middle.

Kees Aerts was sitting in the cutoff and considering what to do as Alexander van der Swaluw had shoved for 7,200 on the button. After contemplating for a bit, Aerts opted to call with the bigger stack with {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Van der Swaluw held {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} for two pair. He just needed to avoid an ace on the river which he did as the {3-Diamonds} completed the board for Van der Swaluw to double up.

Mertens Has Almost Two Start Stacks

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

Eric Mertens had a bigger stack than earlier in the day and said he had {j-}{j-} against {j-}{6-} on a {j-}{6-}{6-} flop to add a bunch of chips and now he was involved in a hand against Wim Neys.

The board read {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Mertens check-called the bet of Neys.

The river completed the board with the {9-Hearts} and they both quickly checked. Mertens tabled {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for the turned full house which was enough to win the hand as Neys showed he had {4-Spades}{3-Spades} for the flopped straight.

Munoz Falls to Metaal

Level 6 : 200/400, 400 ante

The player in the hijack raised to 900 and Govert Metaal three-bet to 2,800 on the button. Ramon Miquel Munoz four-bet shoved for 8,100 in the small blind. Marius Kudzmanas quickly folded his big blind but the initial raiser needed some more time to make a decision. After a bit, he opted to fold while Metaal quickly called.

Ramon Miquel Munoz: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Govert Metaal: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades} to keep Munoz ahead. The turn brought them the {7-Spades} which didn't change things but the {q-Hearts} on the river gave Metaal the higher pair to eliminate Munoz from the Main Event for now.
