Day 1b of the WSOP Circuit IP Biloxi $1,700 Main Event has reached its conclusion. The day drew 187 entries, which brought the total number of entries in the Main Event to 281. As the dust settled at the end of the day only 32 remained.

The Day 1b chip leader was Hamid Izadi, who bagged the runaway chip lead with 523,000, which is more than the Day 1a chip leader. Izadi had a hot day that began early with a straight flush and only got better from there as he was able to steadily collect chips.

In second place at the end of play was Robbie Beck with 385,000. Beck had a solid day that heated up in the last few levels when his stack started to grow exponentially, including in the last level when he was seated right next to his father, Bob Beck, who also bagged a healthy amount with 241,000.

Jeremy Eyer made it through with 346,000 which was good enough for third place. He was spotted with a large stack shortly after the dinner break and he was able to continue his upward momentum into the top three.

Phillip Walsh with 325,000 and Trace Henderson with 278,000 rounded out the top five in chips. Henderson is among the points leaders for the Casino Championship here in Biloxi and will be looking to make a deep run on Day 2.

Other notables who found a bag as play came to an end and will continue on to Day 2 include Rami Owera (231,000), Kyle Cartwright (184,000) and Michael Lech (128,000).

There were several casualties amongst the field on Day 1b as several big names did not advance to Day 2 including Maurice Hawkins, Allen Kessler, Melisa Singh, Blake Whittington and David Prociak.

The 32 survivors from Day 1b will join the 17 who made it through Day 1a to create a starting field of 49 on Day 2, which gets underway with Level 17 at 12 p.m. local time.

PokerNews will provide all the Day 2 coverage as this tournament heads toward the big stakes stages.

Three players saw a flop of {3-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Diamonds} including the father-and-son combo of Robbie Beck, who is among the chip leaders, and Bob Beck.

Joshua Johnson bet 18,000, Robbie Beck folded, and Bob Beck called.

The turn was the {k-Spades}. Both players checked and the river saw the {8-Spades} peel off. Beck took the initiative and bet 25,000 which prompted Johnson to fold.

Action was on the river on a board that read {3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Hamid Izadi bet 21,000 into a pot that looked to be roughly 15,000.

After several moments of thought, his opponent Dustin Stewart folded.

Izadi said "Straight flush" and showed the {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to confirm the appearance of the ultra rare hand as he pulled in the pot.

PokerNews is in town to live report the $1,700 Main Event here at the World Series of Poker Circuit IP Biloxi, but that is just one of the gold ring events that will have played out by the end of the series.

In Event #9: $600 No-Limit Hold’em, 145 runners created a $74,675 prize pool that was paid out to the top 23 players. Among those to cash but fall short of making the final table were Jerry Giroir (10th - $1,322), Melisa Singh (12th - $1,322), Hamid Izadi (14th - $1,137), Burnie Burns (21st - $924), and David Prociak (23rd - $438).

After Daniel Lowery busted in third for $8,530, the title came down to Alabama’s Corey Harrison and Louisiana’s Charles Brady, who won Event #3 at the stop. The former, a 42-year-old college professor, ultimately prevailed to win the tournament for $20,027 and his first ring.

“It feels great, I’ve actually been to a few final tables but the cards actually fell my way today, so I was able to make it through. It feels good to finally make it over the top,” said Harrison.

On his match with Brady, Harrison offered the following: “I was behind quite a bit, but I was pretty patient, and I made a couple of big hands, when he actually had hands. He doubled me up twice. One time he had ace-deuce, I had ace-eight, so that worked out well, and another time we played a really big pot when I turned the nut straight and he had two pair. That was the hand where I got most of my chips.”
