Day 1b of the WSOP Circuit IP Biloxi $1,700 Main Event has reached its conclusion. The day drew 187 entries, which brought the total number of entries in the Main Event to 281. As the dust settled at the end of the day only 32 remained.

The Day 1b chip leader was Hamid Izadi, who bagged the runaway chip lead with 523,000, which is more than the Day 1a chip leader. Izadi had a hot day that began early with a straight flush and only got better from there as he was able to steadily collect chips.

In second place at the end of play was Robbie Beck with 385,000. Beck had a solid day that heated up in the last few levels when his stack started to grow exponentially, including in the last level when he was seated right next to his father, Bob Beck, who also bagged a healthy amount with 241,000.

Jeremy Eyer made it through with 346,000 which was good enough for third place. He was spotted with a large stack shortly after the dinner break and he was able to continue his upward momentum into the top three.

Phillip Walsh with 325,000 and Trace Henderson with 278,000 rounded out the top five in chips. Henderson is among the points leaders for the Casino Championship here in Biloxi and will be looking to make a deep run on Day 2.

Other notables who found a bag as play came to an end and will continue on to Day 2 include Rami Owera (231,000), Kyle Cartwright (184,000) and Michael Lech (128,000).

There were several casualties amongst the field on Day 1b as several big names did not advance to Day 2 including Maurice Hawkins, Allen Kessler, Melisa Singh, Blake Whittington and David Prociak.

The 32 survivors from Day 1b will join the 17 who made it through Day 1a to create a starting field of 49 on Day 2, which gets underway with Level 17 at 12 p.m. local time.

PokerNews will provide all the Day 2 coverage as this tournament heads toward the big stakes stages.

Beck Slays Smith

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

No sooner had Bob Beck picked up the previous pot to boost him up when he was spotted taking another large pot. Jason Smith was having his chips being counted to determine if he was covered.

Beck's {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} was showing as the victorious hand over the {10-}{10-} of Smith on a board that read {3-}{7-}{8-}{a-}{6-} giving Beck the set.

The dealer finished the count to confirm that Smith was indeed covered and he walked away from the table.
