Ba Gets Trips Value

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

The board read {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} and action was checked to Dinh Ba, who bet 3,300. His opponent checked his cards before tossing in the call.

Ba showed the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for trips which was good as his opponent mucked his hand.

Fiedler Rides Roller Coaster to Big Pot

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Jason Fiedler was all in and at risk with his 17,300 in the middle on a flop that read {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs}. He had one caller while a third player was thinking it over. Eventually, the third player folded and the cards were turned over.

Fiedler had the lead with the {9-Spades}{8-Hearts} against the {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} of his opponent.

However, the turn flipped the tables as the {k-Diamonds} came off to give his opponent a better two pair. Fiedler threw his hand up in disbelief at the unfortunate turn card.

The river shook things up again as the {9-Hearts} bonked off to give Fiedler the full house and the double up.

PokerNews is in town to live report the $1,700 Main Event here at the World Series of Poker Circuit IP Biloxi, but that is just one of the gold ring events that will have played out by the end of the series.

In Event #11: $400 No-Limit Hold’em One-Day, 125 runners battled it out for a piece of the $41,250 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 19 players including Stanley Williams (10th - $791), Michael Lech (12th - $791), Robert Cheung (15th - $684), and Adam Swales (19th - $562).

In the end, Jason Tang beat Kataka Eaton in heads-up play to win the tournament for $11,241 and his first gold ring.

“First ring, it feels amazing, finally,” he said after the win. “I have five bubbles, but it finally happened. I checked one off my bucket list, now I need a bracelet.”

He continued: “I chipped up normal, then had some nice spots. I haven’t seen aces the whole entire series and I finally got a big hand with aces. That’s what really catapulted me at the final table.”
