While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the High Roller and Main Event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about the full schedule of side events that have been playing out over the past week at the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Hammond.

In Event #3: $400 NLH Seniors, 275 runners created a $90,750 prize pool that was paid out to the top 45 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the official final table were Ira Lathan (10th- $1,387), Sandra Morse (13th - $1,146), Scott Buller (16th - $966), Allan Furman (18th - $833), Albert Bevilacqua (22nd - $734) and Frank Glass (25th- $661).

In the end, it was Florida native Simon Phillip who navigated the field to win his second gold ring in the Seniors Event, winning the same title in back-to-back years at Hammond, and Phillip also collected a $21,034 payday.

Flynn Flops the Nuts

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

Paul Flynn checked a {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop from the big blind, and the hijack overbet the pot, jamming for 10,100 into a pot of around 2,000.

"Well, I call." Flynn said quickly.

Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Paul Flynn: {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

Flynn had flopped the nut straight, but his opponent picked up plenty of outs when the {10-Hearts} turn gave the hijack trip tens. The {8-Hearts} river kept Flynn's straight out on in front, and he eliminated his opponent.

Thomas Shoves River, Gets Paid

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

PokerNews caught the very end of a hand that saw Brian Thomas, in the small blind, shove over the top of a 20,000 bet from under the gun, with the board showing {5-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

The under the gun player made the call, with Thomas slightly covered.

Brian Thomas: {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Under the Gun: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The under the gun player was looking for outs to a set, or a counterfeiting two pair. It didn't happen, with the full boat hitting the board for Thomas as the {5-Spades} fell.

Ballard Binks on Fink

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Garrick Ballard raised to 600 from middle position, and Mark Fink, owner of five WSOP Circuit rings, three-bet to 2,000 from the cutoff. Ballard called.

Ballard checked the {q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Spades} flop to Fink, who bet 2,500. Ballard called.

The {q-Clubs} turn and {10-Spades} river were checked down, and Ballard tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a rivered two pair. Fink winced at the sight of Ballard's hand, then mucked sight unseen.

Esquivel's Chips Get Chopped Up

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante

Five players invested 800 before the flop to see a {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop hit the felt, and Kris Bradshaw bet 2,000 in middle position. Mark Fink raised to 6,000, and Michael Esquivel three-bet shoved for 13,200 from the hijack. Kevin Davis then four-bet jammed for 39,000 on the button, and after the big blind folded, Bradshaw called off his last 25,000 total. Fink tanked for a minute, then folded.

Michael Esquivel: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Kris Bradshaw: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Kevin Davis: {j-Spades}{8-Spades}

Davis held the nut straight, but Esquivel was still live with a set. The {2-Diamonds} changed nothing, and while the {j-Hearts} river confirmed Esquivel's elimination, it also meant that Bradshaw's lower straight on the flop had caught up to Davis, allowing Bradshaw to chop the pot with Davis.

McBrayer Cracks Six Figures

Level 5 : 200/300, 300 ante
BJ McBrayer
BJ McBrayer

The cutoff checked a {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} board over to BJ McBrayer on the button. McBrayer sized up his opponent's stack, then bet 15,000 into the 12,000 pot, enough to cover the cutoff. The cutoff thought for a minute, then obliged in calling off his last 10,300.

Opponent: {7-Spades}{4-Spades}
BJ McBrayer: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

McBrayer faded the gutshot on the {6-Hearts} river and won the pot with tens-full.
