Franco Loses a Flip and his Stack

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
WSOP Circuit Marrakech
WSOP Circuit Marrakech

Sonny Franco has nearly $2 million in live tournament cashes tracked by The Hendon Mob but will need to re-enter during tomorrow's Day 1b in order to add to this total.

A player opened from early position before a player nicknamed Igna Poker three-bet to 11,000. Franco four-bet jammed for 38,800.

The original opener tanked for a couple of minutes before he folded and Igna Poker opted to quickly call.

Sonny Franco: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Igna Poker: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The race was on and Franco's tens were ahead after the {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs} appeared on the flop. The {a-Spades} on the turn paired up Igna Poker and Franco was eliminated from Day 1a after the {q-Diamonds} on the river was unable to provide a last second save.

Penultimate Blind Level of Day 1a Begins

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Blinds have gone up to 800/1,600 with a big blind ante of 1,600. This is the second to last blind level of the day.

At the start of the level, there were 88 players remaining out of the 227 entrants to enter Day 1a.

Willy Wonka with Cowboys

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Willy Wonka
Willy Wonka

A player with the nickname Willy Wonka bet 13,500 into a pot of around 25,000 with the {8-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on the board and got a call from Ben Masbah.

Willy Wonka then jammed after the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Masbah quickly called off his remaining stack of around 30,000. Willy Wonka turned over {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Masbah began to walk away from the table. Since it was an all-in situation, the dealer turned over his cards to show he had {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

Willy Wonka has had the chip lead most of the day. Also with a big stack at another table is Yohai Cohen with about 260,000.

Huxley Over 100K

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Philipp Huxley
Philipp Huxley

Phillip Huxley was around a starting stack or less most of the day including going into dinner break with 29,000. He built up his stack to over 50,000 before recently growing his stack to around 100,000.

Most of Huxley's surge came in the following hand. Huxley opened from under the gun for 3,300 before Stefan Bittger jammed for about 47,000 from the hijack. The action folded back to Huxley who made the call.

Stefan Bittger: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Phillip Huxley, {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Huxley was ahead before the flop and kept the lead throughout the hand with the {4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{a-Spades} running out on the board.

After the hand, the dealer counted both players' stacks and Bittger was eliminated after it was deemed Huxley had him covered.

Oldak Eliminates Obram

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Ali Ait Obram open-jammed from early position for less than 10 big blinds with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Thierry Oldak three-bet most of his stack for about 50,000 from late position with {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and the remaining players folded.

The {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop gave Oldak a set and Obram was drawing dead after the {4-Diamonds} came on the turn. Obram was already out of his seat and walking away from the table as the {k-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Aces Cracked for Sinnig

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

WSOP bracelet winner Vangelis Kaimakamis opened for 5,000 from early position. Two players called before Pierre Sinnig jammed for about 24,000. Kaimakamis four-bet jammed for 62,000 and the remaining players folded.

Pierre Sinnig: {a-}{a-}
Vangelis Kaimakamis: {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}

The {10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Hearts} ran out on the board to give Kaimakamis a full house and to send Sinnig to the rail despite him starting the hand with the strongest hole cards.

Eluz Ousted

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Yossi Eluz open-jammed for 20,900 from middle position and was called by Igna Poker in the big blind.

Yossi Eluz: {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Igna Poker: {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}

Eluz was ahead before the flop but it became more of a coin-flip situation after the {9-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop gave Igna Poker a flush draw.

The {2-Spades} was a safe card for Eluz but the {5-Hearts} completed Igna Poker's flush and Eluz was eliminated just before the end of the day.
