Kappenberg Takes an Easy Pot Off Taborsky

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

David Taborsky is one of the most well-known local regulars in the Czech Republic and he was spotted in the field. In a battle cutoff versus button, Taborsky opened and called a three-bet to 2,000 by Sebastian Kappenberg.

Both checked through a {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop and the {9-Clubs} followed on the turn. Taborsky checked once more and Kappenberg's delayed continuation bet took it down.

Gondrom Upsets Nguyen's Aces

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante
Duc Quy Nguyen
Duc Quy Nguyen

Andreas Gondrom raised to 600 and Duc Quy Nguyen three-bet to 2,100 on the button for Gondrom to call. What followed was a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} on which Gondrom checked, Nguyen continued for 3,200 and the call came shortly after.

On the {k-Hearts} turn, Gondrom check-called for another 7,500 and then checked again the {4-Diamonds} on the river. Nguyen fired a third barrel for 7,500 and Gondrom just flat-called to get shown the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Slowly, Gondrom rolled over the {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a flopped set and chipped up in a fairly significant pot.

Boermans Among the Early Leaders

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Bart Boermans had won a larger pot early on Day 1b and continued to chip up thereafter, adding nearly 50% to what he started with.

In the latest pot against Ferdi Pamdir, both checked the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} turn and {3-Spades} river. Pamdir tabled the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} but Boermans had that beat with the {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the superior pair.

Miniucchi and Sultanem Chop It Up

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

David Hu entered and was involved in the first three-way pot to the {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop. The action checked to Georges Sultanem who bet 1,100. Hu folded while Marcello Miniucchi in the cutoff called.

Both then checked the {q-Hearts} turn and {a-Spades} river. Sultanem tabled the {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and chopped with the {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} of Miniucchi.

Neuville Knocked Out by Pamdir

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

Another player has been sent to the rail and that happened to be former WSOP Main Event finalist Pierre Neuville, who continues to run bad in the €1,700 Main Event at King's Resort.

With some 15,000 in the middle in a battle of short stacks over on table eight, Neuville in the hijack and Ferdi Pamdir got their chips in as follows.

Pierre Neuville: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Ferdi Pamdir: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The {k-Spades} turn improved Pamdir to the superior pair and left Neuville with the case queen as out. No miracle happened on the {10-Spades} river to send the Belgian to the rail.

Sultanem Eliminated by Miniucchi

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

A three-bet to 2,500 by Arash Karimkhanzand was then four-bet to 6,500 by Marcello Miniucchi in the cutoff. Georges Sultanem on the button tossed in two T-5,000 chips without saying anything and the floor was called. It was ruled as just a call and Karimkhanzand called.

The {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop was checked by Karimkhanzand and Miniucchi bet 10,000. Sultanem pushed all-in for Karimkhanzand to fold and Miniucchi to snap-call.

Georges Sultanem: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Marcello Miniucchi: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Neither the {7-Spades} turn nor the {j-Diamonds} river provided any help to Sultanem and he became the next early casualtty, while Karimkhanzand mentioned in table chat to have folded pocket jacks.
