Oswald Shoves Into Muehlebach's Big Slick

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mathias Muehlebach raised to 25,000 from early position and Adrian Liechti called on the button. Roland Oswald jammed from the big blind for 134,000, and Muehlebach moved in over the top. Liechti folded, and the players went to a showdown.

Roland Oswald: AJ All in
Mathias Muehlebach: AK

Oswald was dominated by Muehlebach, and he didn't improve enough to win on the 2KQ6A runout where Muehlebach ended with two pair.

Oswald was out and the remaining players were just a few more eliminations from bagging up for the night.

Liechti Can't Watch

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Adrian Liechti
Adrian Liechti

On a flop of Q82, Adrian Liechti got his stack of 199,000 into the middle with Mathias Muehlebach being the player to bust him just before the money bubble.

Adrian Liechti: KK All in
Mathias Muehlebach: QJ

Lietchi was ahead with pocket kings against the top pair of Muehlebach.

Lietchi couldn't watch as he walked away from the table just as the dealer rolled off the 7 on the turn. The A came on the river, and Liechti avoided the bad beat.

Muehlebach dropped to below half a milly, and Liechti was up to over 500,000.

Gianasmidis Makes Top Pair to Bust Ayas

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Alexandros Gianasmidis
Alexandros Gianasmidis

Alexandros Gianasmidis raised under the gun and Huseyin Ayas shoved for 94,000 from the hijack. After getting an exact count from the dealer, Gianasmidis made the call.

Huseyin Ayas: 1010 All in
Alexandros Gianasmidis: AJ

Ayas' pair of tens stayed ahead after the 26Q flop, but the A on the turn was a disaster for him. An 8 on the river meant Gianasmidis' top pair won the pot, and Ayas ventured toward the exit.

Covaciu En Route to Cash Twice; Cook Hits the Rail

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

After some raising preflop, Paul-Adrian Covaciu's stack of 171,000 got into the middle preflop with Yoann Cook trying to bust him.

Paul-Adrian Covaciu: AQ All in
Yoann Cook: 99

Covaciu, who has already bagged up a stack on Day 2, having survived Day 1b with just a few big blinds, had the chance to double up to above average and likely survive into the second day of play, but with a more playable stack.

The dealer produced a runout of 6A576 to give Covaciu the best hand with a pair of aces. Cook was left with just a few big blinds and was eliminated shortly after.

Rank Smacks the Turn to Bust Reissnecker

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Axel Rank opened it up to 17,000 from the cutoff and Herbert Reissnecker jammed for 56,000 from the small blind. Rank called and the players flipped their cards.

Herbert Reissnecker: JJ All in
Axel Rank: AJ

Reissnecker was in front with his pair of jacks, although the monotone flop of 5103 gave Rank some additional outs in the form of a flush draw.

Rank left Reissnecker drawing dead when he completed his flush on the A turn. An inconsequential 5 completed the runout, and Reissnecker was the newest casualty of the Main Event.

Villani Flips Out Bosshard

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Sandro Villani
Sandro Villani

Julien Bosshard pushed his stack of 84,000 across the betting line from the cutoff, and Sandro Villani was the player trying to knock him out from the small blind.

Julien Bosshard: AQ All in
Sandro Villani: 77

It was a classic flip, but unfortunately for Bosshard, he came out on the wrong side of it as the board fell 954810.

Bosshard was sent home, and Villani's stack increased to 300,000.
