Bichon Says the Truth

Level 6 : 200/400, 0 ante

On the river of a {5-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades} board, Thomas Bichon said "I have the winning hand, I check" and Artur Schreiner then bet 500. "You don't believe me, we Corsicans never lie" the Frenchman continued and then raised it up to 5,000. Schreiner said something along the lines of having a straight with six and seven while Bichon claimed to "have an ace in my hand and the straight with jack-ten."

Schreiner eventually called and was shown {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} or the nut straight, revealing his own {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} as well.- Bichon also took a bigger pot off Jerome Sgorrano as well to send the Belgian back to starting stack.

Claus Carlsen
Claus Carlsen

Jan-Peter Jachtmann was part of a limped pot and Claus Carlsen then raised to 2,200 with 6,625 behind. Only Jachtmann called and they saw the flop {Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Jachtmann checked and Carlsen bet 5,000 to call the all in with a pair of kings. Jachtmann held the {A-Diamonds}{Q-}{10-}{4-Diamonds} for two pair and a blank {J-} turn and {6-} river filled up the board.

Fellow Dane Mikkel Plum is also very short-stacked. He called a raise to 1,200 and then gave up after the flop to drop into the red zone of 10 big blinds.

Schneider Shows a Possible Bluff

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Three players limped in for 300 chips and then Florian Langmann raised to 1,650 out of the button. Timo Schneider reraised the pot and was called by Langmann only, who put his hands before the eyes before the flop fell {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Schneider moved all in for his last 11,425 and Langmann then checked the flop and mucked his cards to get shown {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}.

Ioannis Papadopoulos Enters and Leaves

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

Greece's Ioannis Papadopoulos, who late-entered the tournament, exits after a big pot left him crippled. Roman Cieslek opened up the action from mid-position to 800 chips, which Papadopoulos called from the big blind to set-up heads-up action. On a flop of {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, Papadopolous check-raised the action to 3,500 after Cieslek bet 500. After the {8-Clubs} appeared on the turn, Cieslek opened to 8,000 with top-pair and a straight-draw holding {k-}{j-}{10-}{x-} before Papdopolous bet all in for over 30,000 with middle set holding {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}.

A {2-} helped neither player on the river as Cieslek saw his starting stack double, and Papadopolous was left crippled with 3,000 chips. The next hand, Papadopoulous was all-in before the flop for his remaining chips, and was the latest casualty of the tournament.

Chip Fluctuations on Table Three

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

"I missed the spot against Thomas Bichon to go up to 100k," Jerome Sgorrano mentioned after taking a short break from his table and indeed the Belgian had lost some of his stack. Bichon himself bet the three-way flop {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades} for 2,500 and received a fold from Tino Schneider and a call from Artur Schreiner.

Both players then checked down the {9-Spades} turn and {2-Spades} river. Schreiner flipped over {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a straight and {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} as other hole cards while Bichon mucked.

Langmann Busts Binar

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

It all went fireworks on the flop {Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts} with Florian Langmann and Pavel Binar going at it, putting the latter at risk for 36,625 chips.

Langmann: {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Binar: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

The {6-Clubs} on the turn left Binar in need of the last five or one of the remaining aces in the deck in order to avoid elimination. However, it was the {10-Hearts} that fell on the river and send Binar to the rail. Langmann was somewhat surprised to see the dealer count out the stack of his opponent because he held the winning hand, but that was sorted out within a matter of seconds.
