Gilboa Doubles Through Rozenbaum

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Shay Rozenbaum raised to 240,000 and Uri Gilboa jammed for 655,000 in the small blind. A tank by Rozenbaum followed and he then made the call.

Uri Gilboa: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Shay Rozenbaum: {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades} board delivered no upset and Gilboa doubled.

Five ways to the {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop, it was Petru Proca who bet 400,000 from under the gun over on the outer table. Shay Rozenbaum then jammed for 1,385,000 from one seat over and Simone Lombardo went all-in over the top. All other players including Proca folded and the cards were turned over.

Simone Lombardo: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The {j-Clubs} turn left Rozenbaum drawing dead and the {j-Spades} river was a formality, as Rozenbaum had to settle for 12th place and €13,125.

Achegsei and Ricci Tangle Twice

Level 28 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Andrea Ricci defended the big blind against a button raise by Ahmad Achegsei with the {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} and check-called a bet on the {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop when Achegsei fired with the {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. On the {10-Spades} turn, Ricci check-called for another 650,000 and they checked down the {6-Diamonds} on the river.

Ricci claimed the lead but then check-folded the next bigger pot on the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} river with {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for a flush. Achegsei showed him the bluff with {a-Spades}{5-Hearts} after he had fired a bet worth 800,000.

Ricci Calls Correctly

Level 28 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Andrea Ricci min-raised to 240,000 with the {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Ahmad Achegsei called in the big blind with the {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Achegsei led for 400,000, picking up a call by Ricci.

On the {q-Hearts} turn, Achegsei fired another 900,000 to earn a call and that created a pot of 3.3 million to the {3-Spades} river. Achegsei then fired 1.4 million and Ricci was sent into the think tank.

The Italian eventually called and dragged in the big pot. One player at the table then said "crazy guys", presumably Achegsei who just fired three barrels.

Karli Doubles Through Stinca in Massive Suckout

Level 28 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Sami Karli
Sami Karli

Andrea Ricci raised to 240,000 with the {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and earned three callers including Mihai Stinca, Sami Karli, and Ahmed Achegsei. The flop fell {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Ricci bet 200,000. Stinca called and Karli raised to 600,000, which prompted Ricci to check the stack sizes of his opponents.

Ricci gave it some show and folded, Stinca jammed for 4.1 million total and Karli studied his table neighbour and tried to engage in table chat. "Will you show?"

Stinca replied "I don't speak" and Karli then replied "so start speaking" before making the very reluctant call for the 2.4 million he had behind.

Sami Karli: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Mihai Stinca: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Karli turned a gutter with the {9-Spades} and asked for a jack. Sure enough the {j-Spades} fell on the river and Karli exploded in celebration.

"He didn't raise with ace-king twice," Karli explained numerous times to his rail in German. "That's what happens when you limp," Karli added while the stacks were counted.

Petru Proca Eliminated in 11th Place (€15,965)

Level 28 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Petru Proca
Petru Proca

Over on the outer table, Uri Gilboa raised the button and snap-called the shove by Petru Proca in the big blind.

Petru Proca: {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Uri Gilboa: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop all but sealed the fate of Proca and he was gone on the {8-Hearts} turn, making the {7-Spades} river a formality. They counted the chips and Proca was all-in for 1,030,000, which Gilboa had covered by a fraction of a big blind.

Gilboa celebrated as he not only scored the knockout but also burst the bubble for the 2021 WSOP Europe €10,300 Main Event tickets for the top 10.
