Devilfish Loses a Pot

On a board of {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Devilfish bet 1300. Chad Layne stood up to see the cards.

"That's a good sign," joked the Devilfish.

Layne eventually called after figuring out where he was in the hand. He flipped over Q-8 for two pair while Devilfish showed 10-8.

Gabe Kaplan Cracks Antonio Esfandiari's Aces

Fans of "High Stakes Poker' know that Antonio Esfandiari has had bad, bad luck with pocket aces during the first two seasons of that show. Well, Gabe Kaplan brought the evil mojo out of the broadcast booth down to the table. The flop of {A-Clubs} {3-Spades} {5-Spades} gave Antonio a set, but gave Kaplan a flush draw. All the chips ended up in the middle, and the {9-Spades} on the river added another entry to the long ledger of tough beats Esfandiari has suffered with pocket rockets. Kaplan is now up around 17,000 and Antonio is down to around 8K.

ZeeJustin Is Crippled

Justin "ZeeJustin" Bonomo is fast becoming as well known for his live play as online, but he's got some work to do to fight back after this hand. Bonomo raised to 350 and was called in two places. After a {9-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} flop the player in the ten seat bet 800 and Bonomo called. The {10-Spades} turned and the ten-seat check-raised Bonomo to 5K. ZeeJustin moved all-in and was called for 1,125 more. Bonomo turned over {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} and the ten-seat showed his slow-played {K-Clubs} {K-Spades}. The {4-Hearts} on the turn provided no help and Bonomo saw his stack slashed to about 4,300.

Todd Brunson Doubles Up

After a flop of {8-Spades} {2-Hearts} {2-Clubs} Bob Bright bet 1,000 and Todd Brunson raised to 2,500, which Bright called. Both players checked the {Q-Spades} on the turn, but Brunson moved all-in after the {2-Diamonds} fell on the river, and Bright called. Brunson turned over pocket Eights for the full house while Bright had pocket Tens. That hand pushed Brunson's stack up to about 16K.
