Jon Friedberg Is Eliminated

Jon Friedberg ended up all-in with AK against a player with AQ and another with pocket Sevens. But it was the worst of the three hands that ended up the winner when the board ran out K-6-9-10-J to give the player holding A-Q the straight and the pot.

Phil Hellmuth Triples Up

Just before the break when, down to his last 475, he moved in with {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}. He was called in two places but Hellmuth flopped a queen and the other players never caught up. Phil's still short, but he's also still alive.

Paul McCaffrey Runs into Pocket Aces

Before the break, there was 3,000 in the pot when Paul McCaffrey raised it up 6,000 from UTG. Dan Goldman pushed all in for 6,350 total and McCaffrey called. Goldman had {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and McCaffrey had {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. McCaffrey had a flush draw, after the flop came {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, but Goldman made a full house when the {10-Diamonds} and {10-Spades} hit the board. After the hand McCaffrey was down to 4,600 and Goldman had 16,000.

Shannon Elizabeth Gets Rivered

After raising to 1,000 on the button, the player in the small blind moved all in for his last 2,700 and Elizabeth called. She held pocket tens, her opponent had A-5, and Shannon was in good shape right up to the point where the {A-Clubs} spiked on the river. That beat brought her stack down to 4,400.
