Legendary Tommy Hufnagle Eliminated

Tommy Hufnagle's opponent looked young and probably didn't know he just knocked out one of the great Omaha Hi-Lo and Stud players in the world. Hufnagle flopped a A-K-Q with J-10 for a straight, but his opponent has A-A and hit queen on the turn for the boat. The river was a nine.

Hufnagle ran with the Golddust Twins in the late 70s and early 80s -- Chip Reese and Danny Robison. The Twins, so the legend goes, arrived in Vegas with $700 between them and ran it up to over $2 million playing poker and gin and betting on bowling and other games. Everything they touched turned to gold.

"I'm Learning Isolation"

Daniel Negreanu is continuing to dominate his table. It's hard to be in a hand with him without facing two or three raises preflop.

"Do you get a hand every time?" an opponent asks. "I'm learning about isolation," Negreanu replies.

In this hand, his opponent bets, Negreanu raises, his opponent calls. The flop is {5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} and the opponent bets. Negreanu raises and the opponent calls. The turn is {3-Diamonds} and both check. The river is {8-Clubs} and both check. Negreanu has {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. His opponent hesitates.

"What do you have, ace-deuce?"

His opponent smiles, flashes A-2 and shakes his head.

Negreanu is up to 38,000.

Alex Jacob Busts

A player in middle position raises and Alex Jacob on the button raises all in for his last 400. The middle position calls. Jacob has {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and middle position has {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The board is a roller coaster: {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and Jacob is out. He's not having a bad series, so look for him in another event soon.

Negreanu Wins First Hand after Break

David Negreanu flops two pair and busts an opponent, bringing himself up to 33,000 in chips. After the hand he tells Scotty Nguyen over at the next table that he got J-J during the fifteen minute break, in a three-way pot, while he was playing in the Limit event a few tables down. His absent self is sitting on a good size pot over there, so he's juggling both events fine thus far. "Life is good!" he says.

Esfandiari's Set Hopes Vanish

A player in middle position raises and Antonio Esfandiari calls in the cutoff. A player on the button re-raises and David Williams folds in the big blind. The middle position calls all in and Esfandiari calls. After this furious preflop action, the flop is {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{J-Spades} and Esfandiari bets in the cutoff. The button calls all in and shows {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Esfandiari has {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. The set over set holds with {7-Spades}{3-Spades} and Esfandiari is down to 7,000. After the hand, Williams said he folded queens.
