Technical Difficulties

We apologize for the lack of updates. The wireless internet connection in the Amazon Room is currently down. The Rio's tech staff is on the situation and working on a solution as we speak. Stay tuned. And again we apologize for the outage.

Catching Up

We wandered far afield and found a workable wireless signal so we can supply some information to catch you up.

Cheryl Hines was eliminated in especially cruel fashion. She held {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} against {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, her opponent flopped a gutshot draw on the {3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} flop, and it was the {Q-Spades} on the turn that sealed Hines' fate even as it gave her a pair. The {Q-Diamonds} on the river just added insult to injury.

Maureen Feduniak has also been eliminated.

Today's Field

There were 1,286 players in today's $1,000 Ladies No-Limit Hold-Em event, the biggest women-only event in history. The total prize pool is $1,755,000, and the top 99 players will cash.

Heather Borowinski Likes Quads

Heather Borowinski raises from under the gun to 1,000 and is called in one spot. The flop comes ten high and both players check. The turn brings a second ten and they check again. The river is a three and Borowinski bets 1,000. Her opponent calls immediately but mucks her hand when Borowinski turns over pocket tens for quads.

Heather Borowinski is now up to 5,400 chips.

On Break

The players are on a 15-minute break, hopefully we'll have wireless access soon and can resume normal updates.
