Thor Hansen = First 100K Man

Thor Hansen's monster stack has just passed the 100K mark. Hansen has already made three cashes in this year's WSOP, including a 4th place finish in the $5,000 limit hold'em and a 13th place finish in the $5,000 seven card stud.

"I'm on a Jelly Roll!"

In a three-way pot vs. Bill Edler and Bill Chen, Mike Sexton put his last 7,000 into the pot on fourth street. On fifth street, Sexton's board read 7-6-5, and with 2-3 in the hole, he had his low made and needed an 8 or a diamond to scoop.

"I'm on a jelly roll!" Sexton declared.

On seventh street, Sexton caught an 8 to make his straight and scooped the enormous pot. Chen ended up with a pair of aces and a busted low draw. Edler missed his wheel draw and was eliminated on the hand.

Sexton's stack is up to 51,000.

Players Not Loving the Structure

Just as it was announced that the betting limits were going up to 1,500-3,000 Mike Matusow popped out of his seat.

"I have double the average stack and that's only 12 bets!" he shouted to anyone who would listen.

Other players have been grumbling all afternoon about how short everyone's stacks are relative to the antes and limits.

"This is the worst structure I've seen in poker" lamented Scotty Nguyen.

Two Ladies Left

On our final eight tables of the $3K stud hi-lo World Championship, only two women remain in contention. Susan Chi, who cashed the $1K stud hi-lo event at last year's WSOP has 27,000 in chips and Barbara Lewis, a Vegas local who finished 12th in the $5K stud World Championship last week has 23,000.
