Phil Laak Makes a Boo-Boo

After busting a player early on and building up a nice early stack, Phil Laak gave a good bit back after a little faux pas. With the action folded around Laak called in the small blind and the big blind raised to 725. Laak called and, thinking the big blind was all-in, flipped over his {A-Spades}{4-Spades}.

Thing is, the other player still had 2,000 behind, so Laak took his cards back and they saw a flop of {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The other player pushed in his remaining chips and, after doing some calculations, Laak decided to call. The other player showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, his pair held up, and Laak was left with far fewer chips than he might've had.

Allen Cunningham Takes Pot from Freddy Deeb

Allen Cunningham bet 300 from the button, the small blind called and Freddy Deeb called from the big blind. The flop came {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}. It was checked to Cunningham and he bet 400. The small blind folded and Deeb called. The turn came {3-Clubs} and both players checked. The river came {K-Spades}, Deeb checked, Cunningham bet 1,000 and Deeb called. Deeb showed top pair with the {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, but Cunningham turned over the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a set and took the pot. After the hand, Cunningham had 6,500.
