Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi Gets Runner-Runner for a Straight

Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi gets runner-runner and takes the pot just before the break. The player under-the-gun raised 500, Mizrachi called, the player in the cut-off reraised 1,800, the UTG player folded and Mizrachi called. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Mizrachi bet 1,750, his opponent raised 6,200 and Mizrachi called all-in with his last 2,500. Mizrachi had the {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and his opponent had {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Mizrachi hit a straight when the {3-Hearts}{7-Clubs} came, and after the hand he was up to 12,500.

A Pressing Engagement

After a {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{Q-Spades} flop An La bet 3,000 and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi called. Mizrachi also called a 6,000 bet after the {2-Hearts} turned and when La bet 5,000 after the {9-Diamonds} on the river Mizrachi checked his watch several times while thinking about calling off the rest of his chips.

When La asked why he kept checking his watch, Mizrachi said, 'Because the $5K H.O.R.S.E. starts at 5."

Mizrachi made the call, La showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, and "The Grinder" is now free to play in the H.O.R.S.E. event that just started.

Shannon Elizabeth, Alive and Well

The tables for today's $2,000 No-Limit Hold-Em event were scattered throughout the Amazon Room--and beyond. Some players are also in the Poker Pavilion tent, and some were tucked into the back corner near the satellite area. And that's how we made a mistake and thought Shannon Elizabeth was out. We obviously mistook some random and recently-busted poker player for Shannon.

That's a joke, by the way.

Seriously though, she's still in the tournament and she has chips, 15,400 of them at last count. And we'll keep a close eye on her from now on. As onerous a task as that may be.

Hellmuth on the Move

Phil and another player see a flop after limping, and it comes {5-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Phil's opponent checks, and Phil moves all in for 6,150. His opponent calls, and flips over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Phil, however, has {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, and when no help comes for his opponent, Phil pushes his stack up to 13,000.

Jim Pittman is Not at The Crazy Horse

After seeing a {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop three way, a player in middle postion made it 900 to go, and Mark Seif called. Jim Pittman moved in from the big blind for 4,000 more. Both Seif, and the other player called. The turn was the {A-Spades}. The third player checked, Mark Seif bet 4,000, and the third player called. The river was the {9-Hearts}. Seif bet out 6,000 and the opponent folded.

When the hands were turned up, Seif's three Aces {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, was trumped by Jim's full house {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Seif broke about even on the hand becasue he won the side pot.

Upon Tripling up, Jim Pittman stacked his chips, and told us "Be sure and put that hand up on the Internet, so my wife knows I'm not at the Crazy Horse"
