More No Limit Action

This is our third NL Hold Em tournament starting in the last three days. Given the buy in, this will probably have the "smallest" field, but you can bet we'll see another field close to 1,000 players. Tune in at noon to follow all the action.

Players are Starting to Take Their Seats

The doors are open and players are rushing in so they can find their seat and start sizing up their competition. Some will be sitting with strangers, and some will find themselves in the position of playing against some of the worlds' best. Either way, for the first timers, this will be a day to remember.

Ghost Town?

Play has started...and there are more empty seats than filled ones. There are quite a few tables with only two players seated at them. Traffic didn't seem too bad this morning...

Strolling In

The $3K NLHE crowd seems a lot more casual about starting. The pros are strolling in at a leisurely pace - but they are strolling in. Some notables who have found their seats: Erik Seidel, Andy Black, Joe Awada, Greg Raymer, Phil Gordon, Perry Friedman, J.J. Liu, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier - and they keep coming.

John Gale Out

John Gale bets out 1,500 on a board of {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, and his opponent moves all in for about another 4,200, which covers Gale. Gale calls, and the hands are turned up.

{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} - Gale
{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} - Opponent

And John Gale has been eliminated from the tournament.

The Fun Table

Comedian Norm McDonald is seated with Phil Laak, Dan Schmiech and Sorel Mizzi.

In the picture Norm looks contemplative - but later confessed he was just watching Tiger Woods on the plasma TV.
