Tony G. Juices the Party

After having posted a victory in his second round match of the Heads-Up Championship, Tony G. showed up in the Player's Pavilion to play some Seven Card Stud.

Having bet every street prior to sixth, Tony fired a fourth bullet showing {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{K-Spades} and his opponent called with upcards of {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

When his opponent made the call, Tony asked, "Do you want a spade?"

Tony checked the river and his opponent bet $150, suggesting he'd hit the river. Tony made the call and his opponent flipped over {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{2-Spades}, for an ace-high flush.

The hand left Tony with 2,700 chips.

Mel Makes 'Em Fold

Showing {J-Hearts}{A-Hearts}, Mel Judah bet out on fourth street against an ultra-aggressive Yuebin Guo, whose upcards were {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

Guo, who almost always gives action, mucked his hand, and Judah turned over a pair of aces in the hole, saying, "That's a shame."

Mel has an impressive Seven Card Stud resume; he's won two WSOP bracelets in stud and currently ranks second on the all-time seven-stud money list at the WSOP (Artie Cobb owns the top spot).

Mel also placed third at the 1997 WSOP Main Event -- the only time the event was held outdoors (also the year Stu Ungar captured his third World Title).

Late Start Not an Issue for Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu has already compensated for his late start, winning a nice-sized pot with sixes full of aces. Here's how it went down:

Negreanu: x-x-{A-Spades}
Opponent: x-x-{K-Hearts}

Action: Negreanu bet, opponent called.

Negreanu: x-x-{A-Spades}{4-Spades}
Opponent: x-x-{K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Action: Negreanu checked, opponent bet, Negreanu called.

Negreanu: x-x-{A-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: x-x-{K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Action: Negreanu checked, opponent bet, Negreanu raised, opponent called.

Negreanu: x-x-{A-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Opponent: {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Action: Negreanu bet, opponent called.

On the river, Daniel bet in the dark and his opponent made the call. Daniel turned over {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}, for sixes full and his opponent mucked. Daniel now has 4,500 chips.

First Elimination

The first "seat open" call of the tournament was just heard from one of the tables in the Player's Pavilion; we should be hearing a few more soon, as the blinds and antes are about to go up.

Fossilman Rivers a Flush; Wins a Big Pot

Showing {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Greg Raymer called bets from an opponent on both fifth and sixth streets; his opponent's upcards were {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

The river action went check, bet (Raymer), call, and Greg turned over {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, for a ten-high club flush. His opponent told the table that he had two pair and mucked his hand.

Greg now has 5,700 chips.
