Event #34, the $3,000 Limit Hold'em tournament, is officially underway. All tables are currently being played in the Player's Pavilion, as a majority of the tables in the Amazon Room are being used by the Pot-Limit Omaha, Seven Card Stud, and Heads-Up Championship events.

In just a few minutes, we'll let you know who's ponied up the $3,000 buy-in to take a shot at winning bracelet #34 of the 2007 WSOP.

Bill Chen Ready to Defend his Title

Bill Chen won two WSOP bracelets in 2006 and one of them was in this very event (the other was for the $2,500 Short-handed No-Limit Hold'em event).

Chen has taken his seat in the Player's Pavilion, ready to try and win his second $3,000 Limit Hold'em tournament in as many years.

Flaminio Malaguti has let us know that he's already run into three straights while holding top pair or an overpair, two full houses while holding straights, and one four-of-a-kind.

He is now referring to his table as: Flaminio vs. the Donkeys.

Ankenman and Newhouse Looking to Go Back to Back

Jerrod Ankenman and Mark Newhouse made the same final table at one of last year's $3,000 Limit Hold'em events at the WSOP.

They're both in the field today and looking to improve on their 2nd (Ankenman) and 5th (Newhouse) place finishes the last time around.
