Another Big Crowd Hears, "Shuffle Up and Deal!"

Another Big Crowd! As you might expect today's $1,500 No-Limit Hold-Em event has another MASSIVE field. Players are in the Amazon Room, the Player's Pavilion, and there are a few tables set up outside Buzio's restaurant. The players have taken their seats and heard the call of "Shuffle Up and Deal!"

Blinds: 25/50

Big Crowd, Quiet Room

I'm always struck at how quiet the room gets when these $1,500 No-Limit events get started. Many of these players aren't professionals, of course, and for some this is their first World Series event. And so when the first few hands are dealt most players are VERY intent on their hands. You hear the riffling of chips, but not a lot of chit-chat. It usually takes a level or so for the volume level to rise.

Hunting the Field

As is typical with the large $1.5K fields, it takes a while to spot the pros. So far TJ Cloutier, Johan Storakers and Juha Helppi have been spotted.

Curt "Alaska Man" Buettner Has Sent Reinforcements

Wayne McGregor, Ernie Emmi and Michael Forman have made the trip down from Alaska and are playing in today's $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event. Buettner and the boys have made a side wager and placed a friendly bounty on David Williams.

Buettner was eliminated by Williams just twelve places out of the money when he played against him in Event #27. Buettner said, "I had the time of my life, and even though I missed the money, it was a little easier to take since I was eliminated by a good player like Williams." We will keep you posted on the "Alaska Reinforcements."

More Faces in the Crowd

Phil Gordon has just arrived. Randy Holland, Phil Laak, Danny Wong, Jared Hamby, Kevin Song, Alex Jacob, Steve Paul-Ambrose, John "The Razor" Phan, Shannon Elizabeth, James Van Alstyne and Dan Shak have been sighted.
