Mike "The Mouth" Matusow and the Doc "The Prince of Docness" Kegal just got mixed up in a big pot. After they saw a flop of Matusow bet 2K and the PoD raised to 4,000. The turn was the , Matusow bet and the Prince called, and he also called Matusow's bet when the hit on the river. Mike turned over for top two pair, but the Prince had spiked the case Queen on the turn for a set.
"Why not give this idiot another (deleted) one-outer," Matusow said to the dealer. He then said a few other items which can't be repeated on these pages and kicked a chair that was sitting between two unoccupied tables. Matusow is now at 37,000, while the Prince of Docness is up to 147,000.
Mike "The Mouth" Matusow isn't too impressed with the play of the Prince of Docness. After the PoD check-raised on the turn and river with the board showing and showed down a 7-high straight (which was good enough to win the high in a 3-way pot), Mike got a bit exercised:
"You check-raised that like a stone-cold idiot," the Mouth said. He jumped up to tell a railbird, "He doesn't even think! He's on acid!" When another player was moved to their table and said hello to Matusow, the Mouth pointed at the Prince and said, "You can't play worse than this guy."
The Prince of Docness is our chip leader with 147,000.
According to the most recent tally there are 57 players left in today's field, and 27 of those players will cash. The winner of today's event will take home $363,216 (and the bracelet), while those who just make the money win $12,502.
Phil Hellmuth is pacing along the rail, chatting into his cellphone and making frequent trips over the Mike Matusow's table to check The Mouth's progress. Phil announced to the crowd that he stands to collect a $480K bet from Phil Ivey if Mike wins the bracelet, so he's a most interested spectator.
When Annie Duke made trip fours and held a higher flush draw. Matzura walked through the rail and got a big hug from her father, who said, "It's okay, this was just the first one, it wasn't your last."
And as the dinner break started Annie Duke came over to tell Suzie how well she played, after the two battled it out at the same table most of the afternoon.
