The Amazing Doyle Brunson

It's amazing to watch Doyle Brunson slowly limp back into the Amazon Room with his crutch under his left arm. At 74 years young, his patience and perseverance is something to behold. Every day, more Internet kids are flying into town trying to take down Texas Dolly. They are one-third his age, yet he's still dominating the game of poker, which he's done for almost five decades.

Brunson's chip count is at 37K. He made the final table at last year's event and is trying to replicate that feat.

Paying His Duthie

Omaha-8:

Board: {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Hearts}

Sherkhan Farnood checks the flop and Jennifer Harman bets. John Duthie calls and Farnood folds. Duthie and Harman check the turn. Harman checks the river and Duthie bets. Harman calls and Duthie shows {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. He scoops, getting A-2-3-4-6 for the low and 2-3-4-5-6 for the high. Duthie has 49,000 and Harman is down to 32,000.

Mike Sexton's Omaha-8 Roller Coaster

Hand #1: Sexton increased his stack to 33K after he took down a pot from T.J. Cloutier.

Hand #2: On a board of {K-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{K-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Mike Sexton thought his A-2 was good for a scoop. He only took one-quarter of the pot, because Kirk Morrison showed A-2-6 for a wheel low and a six-high straight. Sexton slipped to 21K after that hand.

Hand #3: In a three-way pot with David Singer and Phil Ivey, Sexton got quartered again with A-2-2-3 on a board of {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. Singer held A-2 while Ivey flopped a straight with {9-Hearts}{6-Spades} to win the high.
