Tony Korfman Wins a Nice Pot

After Ernest Bennett limped Tony Korfman raised to 80K in the small blind and Thomas Catanzaro called from the big blind. Bennett folded and the two blinds saw a {K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. Korfman bet 40,000 and Catanzaro called, but when the {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Korfman bet 80K Catanzaro chose to fold. He's now at 420,000 while Korfman is up to 600,000.

Thomas Catanzaro Doubles Up Through Ernest Bennett

Ernest Bennett has played big-stack poker ever since he became our chip leader, but this time he ran into trouble. From the cutoff he raised to 140K and Thomas Catanzaro moved all-in from the big blind for 270,000 total. Bennett made the call and turned over {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, but Catanzaro held pocket Aces. The {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} never gave Bennett even a glimmer of hope and Catanzaro doubled up to 570,000.

Ray Abels Is Eliminated in 8th Place

Ray Abels
Ray Abels
Running low on chips Ray Abels moved all-in for 144,000 and Ernest Bennett, one seat to Abels' left, made the call. Once again Bennett found himself in a race against A-Q, this time with pocket Sevens. The {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop gave Abels a gutshot straight draw, but the {3-Spades} on the turn and the {4-Spades} on the river didn't improve his hand and Abels was eliminated in 8th place, winning $26, 546. Bennett now has 1,180,00.
