Playing Big Pots

The players left in the field are NOT afraid to get their chips in the middle. Bob Stotka raised to 15K in middle position with {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and, from the small blind, Rod Clarida moved all-in for about 100K more with pocket nines. Stotka called and the race was on.

Clarida made a set on the {9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, which also gave Stotka a flush draw and gutshot-straight draw, but Bob didn't catch a diamond or ten the rest of the way and doubled Clarida up to 250K. Stotka is down to 165,000.
