Shuffle Up and Deal!

Players have taken their seats and cards are in the air! We are playing down to a final table of eight today, so make sure to follow all the coverage until we have our final table!

Studded Table

Tony Ma, Jeffrey Lisandro, and Chris Reslock have all been spotted at table 134 out in the Players Pavilion. Talk about a rough table!

Doyle Starts the Day Off Right

Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson
Doyle Brunson, who started the day with an above-average chip stack, just scooped a pot and is now up to 14,000.

Doyle had the {Q-Spades} as his door card versus his opponents {3-Spades}. On 4th street, his opponent checked the {K-Hearts} and Doyle led out, only to find himself raised. Doyle reraised and was called. Doyle bet down to 7th and showed trip queens to scoop the pot. His opponent mucked.

"Only Nine Bets"

Allen Kessler was overheard discussing the blind structure coming into Day 2. "The average stack today has nine bets, can call nine bets," was Allen's comment. With 185 players starting today, and blinds at 400/800, it appears it is going to be a very fast day.

Kessler Makes Early Exit

Allen Kessler

After just pointing out the flaws in today's blind structure, Allen Kessler has fallen victim to them. Showing the {2-Diamonds} as his door card, Kessler was up against a single opponent showing the {9-Spades}. Kessler caught the {4-Spades} on 4th, and his opponent hit the {3-Diamonds}. Catching the {2-Clubs} and pairing his board on 5th, Kessler bet into his opponent's {A-Clubs}. Kessler was raised, and raised back until he was all-in.

Kessler: {A-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Opponent: {2-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

Calling with no high and just a wheel draw, Kessler's opponent paired up on the turn with the {3-Clubs} while Kessler caught the {Q-Hearts}. 7th street brought Kessler the {6-Diamonds} for a 8-6 low and a pair of 2s for the high, but his opponent caught the {7-Hearts} giving him a 7-5 low and a pair of 3s for the high.

Eliminated and upset, Kessler said "If he cashes, there ought to be an investigation."

Jerome Quadruples Up

Starting the day with only 3,700 in chips and as a short stack, Jeff Jerome has made waves in this first level. After only forty-five minutes of play, in a Stud H/L event, Jerome is up to 14,000!
