Rafe Furst has a guy playing next to him that wants to chip up or go home, as he is in the 7 Card Stud tournament with a lot of chips. The gentleman, Harry, just got it all in against Rafe holding 5 8 offsuit against Rafe's pocket Kings. Rafe's Kings held up, and he is back up - to about 4,500.

Minneapolis Jim Meehan is in fine voice today. As I passed by the table, he was recounting a game where one of the players was discussing a certain unsafe sexual practice in Thailand. As I tried to run past, he grabbed my arm and said, "Wait. You have to hear how this ends." My guess was badly - so I fled. His tablemates, including Alan Sass, looked jealous at my ability to leave the table.

JC Tran is down to about 2,000 after losing about a 7,000-chip pot when his opponent made two pair on the river. The board was {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. JC's opponent turned over {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, and JC mucked.

With the board reading {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Barny trapped his opponent to get all the money in the middle. The player turned over {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for top pair, and Barny turned over {2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for two pair. The turn came the {6-Hearts}, but the river was a Queen, giving his opponent two pair, and knocking Barny to under 2,000 in chips.
