Emotional Roller Coaster

Just two tables away from our Poker News workspace, an unknown player gave us a demonstration of the whirlwind of emotions that the game of poker often forces on us.

The guy was wearing a "World Series of Poker" hat backwards and a green "Player" shirt; he looked like your typical poker enthusiast, excited to be playing in a WSOP event.

Our hero was dealt pocket aces, and we all know how the blood starts pumping faster as the adrenaline rush begins when we look down at aces. He got all of his money in on a flop of {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Spades}, and was up against two opponents -- one held {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}, and the other happened to be tournament pro Randy Jensen, who held {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

When the cards were turned up, our man was thrilled to see that he was ahead, but when the {K-Clubs} fell on the turn, he let out a very loud, "Oh, Christ!!" as he threw his arms up in the air in shock, while gaining the attention of several nearby tables.

Suddenly, a loud "YEAAAAHHH!" burst through the room, as our hero spiked one of the two remaining aces in the deck to retake the lead and win the hand.

Whoever said poker was no fun to watch?
