Erica Schoenberg moved her last 2,750 all in preflop and was called by the button. Schoenberg had {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} while the button had {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

Before the flop came, the player on the button wished Schoenberg luck, but it was not to be, as the flop came {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. The turn {7-Clubs} and river {4-Spades} were no help for Schoenberg either.

As she left, she said to her opponent "Nice hand. Good luck in the tourney."

Alan Sass Crippled

Alan Sass's opponent check-raised all in on the turn for slightly less than what Sass had. Sass made the call with {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}. His opponent held {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop came {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}, giving Sass the flush. The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and Sass was still in the lead. The river, however, was the {9-Spades}, giving Sass's opponent a king-high flush and the pot. Sass was left with less than 3,000.

On a board of {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Ron "Grumpy" Ware bet 4,500 and one player called. The river was the {7-Spades}. Grumpy fired out another 10,500. His opponent again called. Grumpy showed {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} for a set. His opponent mucked.

Ron "Grumpy" Ware increased his stack to 64K.

After Gavin Smith raised to 1,200, one player chose to call and they saw a flop of 6-2-Q. Both players checked, and when a 10 fell on the turn Smith bet 2,800. His opponent called, and when a trey hit on the river they checked it down . Smith turned over {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for top pair and his opponent mucked. Smith now has 73,000 in chips.

"The Magician" was dominated, but managed to spike the {Q-Spades} on the flop. His opponent didn't catch up and Esfandiari doubled up to 19,000 chips.

David Chiu Takes Silver

As we mentioned earlier David Chiu is an advocate of poker becoming an Olympic sport. Well, we are afraid he had to take the silver medal in this pot.

Chiu called his opponent's 8,000 all-in bet holding {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades} while his opponent held {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and the pocket eights were good enough to take the gold medal.

On the turn, Hawbaker checks, the button bets 2,500, and Hawbaker calls. On the river, Hawbaker checks, the button bets 8,000, and Hawbaker raises all in for 25,000. The opponent folds and she shows {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} for the flopped full house. Hawbaker is at 35,000.
