A Bad Flop Sends Allen Cunningham Out

Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham, who won Pot-Limit World Championship last year, will not be a repeat winner. After exchanging a series of raises, Cunningham was all in with pocket queens against pocket nines. But the flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and when Cunningham couldn't catch a queen on the turn or river, his tournament day came to an end.

Harman Claims a Big Fold

On a board reading {6-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{A-Hearts}, Jennifer Harman bet 2,000. Coming strong off his elimination of Greg Mueller, Tony Licastro raised to 10,000.

Harman thought for awhile. After a couple minutes passed, Harman said, "I think I have the best hand."

Licastro responded, "Then you should raise."

"I'm definitely not raising," Harman said in response before folding her hand.

After Harman folded, Licastro showed the J-10 for a Broadway straight and asked Harman if she had a set. Harman said she had a set of queens and Licastro complimented her on a good fold with a table knock.

Keller Continues His Powerful Play

Shawn Keller
Shawn Keller
Shawn Keller made a preflop bet of 2,200 and was called by a player on the button. The flop came {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Keller bet out 3,600. He was again called by his opponent.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Keller led again for 8,000. He was called again.

The river was the {9-Clubs} and Keller didn't slow down one bit. This time he bet 30,000 and his opponent folded.

Keller has increased his stack to over 185,000 and is still atop the field.

Shak vs. Sexton

On a flop of {Q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, Beth Shak checked, Mike Sexton bet 4,000 and Shak called. The turn was the {7-Hearts}. Shak fired out 10,000 and Sexton called. The river was the {J-Spades} and both players checked.

Shak turned up {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair while Sexton showed {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of jacks and multiple busted draws. Shak dragged the pot and increased her stack to 57,000 while Sexton slipped to 65,000.

Ferguson Loses Half His Stack

Chris Ferguson
Chris Ferguson
Chris "Jesus" Ferguson raised to 2,000 preflop. Grant Lang called from middle position. Both players checked a flop of {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. On the {2-Spades} turn, Ferguson bet 3,000 and Lang raised to 7,500. After taking his time as he always does, Ferguson called the raise.

The river brought the {6-Clubs} and Ferguson checked. Lang bet 11,000 and Ferguson thought again before making the call.

Ferguson mucked his hand when Lang showed 2-2 for bottom set of deuces.

Lang commented on the hand as he raked in the pot by saying, "Only thing I was worried about was set over set. Other than that I can't lose money."

Mizrachi Grinded Down

Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi moved all in on a flop of {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. A player called all in with 9-9 and held the best hand. The turn and river didn't improve Mizrachi's hand when the {5-Spades} and the {K-Spades} fell.

Mizrachi was left with only 1,600 chips and was then eliminated in the next few hands.

After seeing a flop of {J-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}, Phil Laak bet 5,000 and Shawn Keller made the call. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and when Laak checked, Keller bet 5,000. Laak check-raised to 11,500, and as Keller thought the situation through Laak said, "I'll show if you show."

Keller folded and turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, and Laak turned over {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for the turned set.
