Raptor's Revenge

In a previous hand Allen Kessler doubled up through David "Raptor" Benefield, but Benefield won the decisive battle between the two. After an A-4-2 flop, all the money went in the middle, and Kessler's {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} trailed Benefield's {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Benefield hit a king on the turn and that brought an end to Kessler's tournament. Benefield now has 255,000 before him.

Eli Elezra Busts Shawn Keller

Shawn Keller
Shawn Keller
After several players limped, Shawn Keller raised from the cutoff. Eli Elezra reraised to 42,000 after it was folded back to him. Keller pushed his last 60,000 into the pot, and Elezra called, showing {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to Keller's {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}. The two have been mixing it up a lot today, and when the flop came down {4-Spades}{K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} Elezra said, "You can't have a hand every time". The {7-Hearts} on the turn and the {K-Clubs} on the river spelled the end of Keller's tournament and lifted Elezra's stack to 325,000.

Jerri Thomas Doubles Up... Again

James Gorham made it 10,000 to go under the gun. Nikolay Evdakov made the call, as did Jerri Thomas from late position. Three players saw a flop of {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Gorham checked, Evdakov checked as well, and then Thomas moved all in.

Gorham folded and Evdakov asked for a count. The dealer announced it was 21,000 and Evdakov confirmed. He then made the call and showed {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Thomas held a pair of eights, {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}.

The turn came the {7-Spades} and the river the {6-Spades} to allow Thomas to double up and then some to over 75,000.

DeWitt is Crippled

Jason DeWitt was facing a pot-sized bet of 95,000 from David Stroj on a {J-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} board. After some long thought, DeWitt decided to put Stroj all in, as he had only a few thousand behind. Stroj quickly made the call.

Stroj showed {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} and DeWitt showed {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. The river was the {Q-Hearts} and Stroj doubled up to over 290,000. DeWitt has been crippled and now has under 8,000 chips remaining.
