It's a Cooler of a Hand

Ouch Rob
Ouch Rob
We arrive at the table with the turn already dealt and the board reading...

{J-Spades} {7-Spades} {4-Hearts} {5-Spades}

The two players involved are Rob Przygoda and Zac Fellows. Zac leads out for 8,000 before Rob raises to 16,000. Zac then makes it 24,000 putting Rob all in if he decides to call. Call he does before revealing {4-Clubs} {4-Spades} for a flopped set. He must've been feeling confident about his hand before Zac tables {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} for a higher set.

The hand was already cruel for Rob before the river {J-Clubs} rubbed salt into the wound and really made sure he was eliminated. Zac is up to 120,000 thanks to those quads.

Eslami Eliminates Frutkin

Ali Eslami has just eliminated John Frutkin from the tournament in 33rd place. The pair got it all in preflop; Eslami with {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} and Frutkin with {Q-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}.

The board ultimately ran out {7-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} and Eslami's queen-jack high held up to win the pot, bringing him to circa 107,000 on the day.

Frutkin took home $5,525 in prize money for his 33rd-place finish.

Another Sent to the Rail

Eric Pratt raises to 6,000 from mid-position before calling a raise to 9,000 from Greg Monaldi. The flop is revealed...

{J-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} Greg only has 2,000 left and soon commits them to the pot. Eric calls holding {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades}, out flopping Greg's {6-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} .

The turn and river change nothing and Greg is sent to the rail.

Foutty vs. Wolfe

Charlie Wolfe flopped second pair when the board came {8-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} and he was holding {A-Hearts} {8-Spades}. He chose this time to get all his chips in the pot by raising Steve Foutty. Little did he know Foutty was holding {A-?} {Q-?}. The cards were tabled and Wolfe was way behind.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and the river the {J-Spades}. Neither improved Wolfe's pair of eights and he was sent home.

Foutty has 165,000.

Jimmy vs. Zac

Jimmy Shultz raised to 6,000 from the button before Zac Fellows reraised to 9,000 from the cut-off. The flop came...

{Q-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {7-Spades}

Zac led out for 3,000 and is called by Jimmy before the turn came...

{A-Clubs}

Zac led out for 6,000 and once again found Jimmy calling before the river...

{Q-Diamonds}

Once again Zac led out for 6,000 and found a call from the stubborn Jimmy. He had good reason to be stubborn though as his {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} was good enough to beat the drawing {6-Spades} {5-Spades} of Zac.

Zac is sitting on 150,000 while Jimmy moves up to 129,000.

Table Talk

Terrence Chan
Terrence Chan
Terrence Chan on playing at the same table with Vinny Vinh (rehashed by one of our reporters):

"I've played in over 70 World Series of Poker events and this is by far the most painful."

Battle of the Kickers

Ron Przygoda makes it 6,000 to play from the cut off and only Zac Fellows calls from the big blind. The flop is dealt as...

{9-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {2-Spades}

Zac leads out for a 3,000 bet before Ron makes it 6,000 to go. Zac then bumps it up to 9,000 before it's capped at 12,000 by Ron. Zac calls so we see the turn...

{6-Clubs}

Zac bets 6,000 and Ron call before the river comes...

{7-Spades}

Both players check it through and the cards are revealed. Ron shows {J-Spades} {9-Spades} but he has kicker problems as Zac flips over {Q-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}. Both have top pair but the queen kicker plays for Zac and he takes the pot and sees his stack increase to 136,000. Ron's at around 52,000 after losing a chunk.

Four-Way Action

Four players see a flop after Vinny Vinh makes a raise from mid-position. The flops comes down...

{K-Clubs} {9-Spades} {3-Spades}

It's checked to Vinny who makes a 3,000 continuation bet. Jimmy Shultz, Nadim Shabou, and Steve Foutty are the other players involved in the pot and all want to stay and see the turn...

{8-Diamonds}

It's checked to Nadim who bets 6,000 before Steve raises up to 12,000. Vinny and Jimmy fold before Nadim makes the call fo the rest of his chips. The river comes...

{Q-Clubs}

Nadim tables {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts} but he has to leave us as he can't beat the {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} that Steve's holding.

Steve is sitting on 160,000 chips now.
