Action From When the Internet Went Down
Action has been a little slow, as befits the early stages of the round. Players are very aware that places 100 through 11 will get the same money, and that between 10th and first places, there is a difference of almost $330,000 -- it's worth picking your spots wisely. Hence much of the action so far has comprised a mid- or late-position raise taking down the blinds.

Danny Smith raises to 2,000 preflop, only for Khalid Hameed to make it 6,200. Smith flat-calls, and goes on to check the

flop. Hameed bets 5,000, and Smith calls. They both check the
turn, and Smith bets 8,000 on the
river. Hameed calls him, and is horrified to see that his
are not only not ahead, but they were behind from the very beginning -- Smith flips over
to take the sizeable pot.9.41pm
Jared Okun is OUT, John McKinney the beneficiary of almost all his chips. McKinney raised preflop and bet every street of the

board. Okun was ahead until the river with pocket jacks, but McKinney was holding pocket fours to river the straight. Ouch. Down to just 400 chips after this hand, it wasn't long before he died his tournament death and headed for the rail.
