Hand #53 – James Akenhead

Grant Hinkle has the button in seat 10. Theo Tran raises to 170,000 from under the gun. James Akenhead calls from the cutoff seat as does Mike Ngo from the big blind. The three players take a flop of {10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}. Action is checked around. The turn is the {4-Spades}. Ngo bets 200,000. Tran folds and Akenhead makes the call. The river comes the {J-Spades}. Ngo checks and Akenhead bets 475,000. Ngo stares blankly across the table and then calls. James shows {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for the straight and Ngo mucks. James Akenhead wins the pot.

Hand #54 – Theo Tran

Aaron Coulthard has the button in seat 3. Mike Ngo limps from the small blind and Theo Tran checks his big blind option. The flop comes {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Both players check. The turn comes {6-Spades}. Again both men check. The {7-Spades} on the river has Ngo checking again. Tran bets 80,000 and Ngo folds. Theo Tran wins the pot.

Hand #55 – James Akenhead

Mike Ngo has the button in seat 4. James Akenhead raises to 165,000. Mike Ngo calls from the button. Tran passes from the small blind and Ferguson calls from the big blind. They see a flop of {9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Ferguson checks and Akenhead bets 350,000. Ngo folds and Ferguson passes as well. James Akenhead wins the pot.

Hand #56 - Chris Ferguson

Theo Tran has the button in Seat 7. Grant Hinkle, from under the gun, makes it 150,000 to go. Mike Ngo calls from the cutoff. Chris Ferguson, in the small blind, takes about a minute before moving his whole stack in, about 975,000. Hinkle folds back to Ngo, whose sunglasses are hanging from his face. He is riffling chips, glancing from the felt to Ferguson and back to the felt. He folds after about a minute. Ferguson wins the pot.

Hand #57 - James Akenhead

Chris Ferguson has the button in seat 8. Theo Tran raises to 175,000 from the cutoff seat. James Akenhead puts in a reraise to 500,000 from the small blind. Action is back to Tran and he gives it up. James Akenhead wins the pot.

Hand #59 - James Akenhead

Grant Hinkle has the button in seat 10. Chris Ferguson raises to 175,000 from middle position. James Akenhead reraises to 500,000 from the cutoff seat. Action folds back around to Ferguson. He sits motionless, again with his trademark stare. He eventually breaks character and tosses his hand in. James Akenhead wins the pot.

"A Little Noise Would Be Nice"

It's possible that the audience here is just as tired as the players and media. After the last hand in which Aaron Coulthard won the pot with an all in raise, the tournament director calling the action said "a little noise would be nice." The tired gallery humored him with some weak applause that could only be described as unenthusiastic.
