Mike Ngo is Eliminated in 5th Place ($268,154)

Mike Ngo Eliminated
Mike Ngo Eliminated
Hand #88 -

First hand back from the break. James Akenhead has the button in Seat 9. Action folds to Grant Hinkle in the small blind, who raises to 325,000. Mike Ngo reraises all in for 1.6 million. Hinkle thinks for about thirty seconds and then calmly says "Call." Here we go.

Hinkle: {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}
Ngo: {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}

The flop is no help to either player. {3-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}.

Ngo's supporters have definitely become the most vocal here in the Milwaukee's Best Light All-In Lounge, as they are shouting up a storm in favor of Ngo.

The turn is the {8-Diamonds}. Hinkle needs a jack on the river...

...and he gets it! A roar goes up from the crowd as the {J-Diamonds} hits the river. Ngo is stunned, but there's no denying that he is eliminated in 5th place. He collects $268,154.

Hand #90 - Theo Tran

There is a dead button for this hand. Theo Tran is in the small blind, and Chris Ferguson is in the big blind.

Akenhead folds before Hinkle makes it 250,000 to go. Tran pushes all in for about 1.5 million. Tran is out of his chair, drinking a bottle of water, and doing his usual shtick of wandering around the stage. Meanwhile, Ferguson has taken well over a minute to decide what he wants to do in this hand and seems no closer to a decision. Finally, he pushes his own stack into the middle. He has Tran covered. Hinkle folds and here we go again!

Tran: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Ferguson: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

I don't think Ferguson has lost a race in the last two days. The law of averages is going to catch up to him at some point.

The flop comes {3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, but Tran still has plenty of outs. One of them comes on the turn - the {K-Clubs}. Ferguson can only catch the {8-Hearts} to avoid doubling up Tran. It doesn't happen when the river is the {6-Spades}. Tran wins the hand and goes up to about 3 million; Ferguson is absolutely crippled, retaining only 225,000.

Hand #91 - Theo Tran

Theo Tran has the button in seat 7 and raises to 300,000. Chris Ferguson would be all in should he choose to call, but he opts fold. James Akenhead folds his big blind and Theo Tran wins the blinds and antes.

Hand #93 - Chris Ferguson

James Akenhead has the button in seat 9. Chris Ferguson moves all in from the cutoff for 210,000. James Akenhead raises to 500,000 from the button and both blinds fold. It's heads up between Ferguson and Akenhead and the players show:

Akenhead: {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}
Ferguson: {K-Clubs} {8-Hearts}

The audience is on their feet, most of which are rooting for Ferguson. The flop comes down {K-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {2-Clubs} putting Ferguson into the lead. In contrast to the rowdy roars heard at other times, Ferguson's supporters clapped triumphantly when the flop came down. The turn was a blank coming the {7-Diamonds}. After a dramatic pause, the river fell the {5-Diamonds} and Ferguson survived. He doubled up to about 500,000.
