Kevin Hart Going Deep?

Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart
Actor Kevin Hart has just been spotted in the blue section right in front of our PokerNews table. Sitting with about 13,000 chips in front of him, Hart appears to be in good spirits, and has been responsible for many a chuckle at his table.

In a recent hand, Hart was in the big blind, posting 300 chips. As the cards were dealt, Hart began eyeing up the players across the table.

"Don't be raising my blinds now. That's racist. Why would you wanna be racist and raise my blinds?" The whole table, dealer included, laughed at his display, but he was forced to fold his cards when a disobedient player moved all in from late position.

Kevin Hart is a native of Philadelphia, PA, and has had roles in many popular flicks, including The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Soul Plane, and a couple of the Scary Movie versions.

David Pham Crippled

A couple of hands after taking a big hit to his stack, David Pham called an all-in bet from a player in the big blind. The big blind held {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Pham held {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. A 10 on both the flop and turn left Pham drawing dead and crippled with 1,100 in chips.

Ferguson Adds On

A player in early position opened the pot for 900 chips, and Chris Ferguson was the only caller, from the small blind. The flop came down {J-Hearts}{K-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Ferguson checked, and his opponent moved all in. The bet covered a good portion of Ferguson's stack, and he made the call with top pair, {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. The other player had {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}, and needed to fill his gutshot straight draw to stay alive. The turn and river came {J-Clubs}, {6-Clubs}, failing to improve his hand, and he shipped all of his chips over to Ferguson's stack. Ferguson now has right around 15,000.

David Pham Eliminated

Preflop, both David Pham and an early-position player went all in and were called by Steve Zolotow. Zolotow held {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}, the middle-position player held {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}, and Pham held {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}.

The flop of {J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} gave Zolotow the lead. The turn and river of {Q-Spades}{K-Spades} gave Zolotow the hand, and sent Pham packing.

Berry Johnston Eliminated

Berry Johnston has just been eliminated after getting all the money in preflop with pocket queens against an opponent's {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Johnston flopped a set of queens but his opponent caught running diamonds to make a flush and send the 1986 World Champion to the rail.

Liu Continues To Rebuild

Liz Liu was in a raised pot on a flop of {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} with a single opponent. After the flop, Liu put her opponent all-in for 2,075 and after thinking about it for awhile, he folded. Liu's move put her back up to 5,500 after the hand.

Moshe Elezra Hanging In There

Moshe Elezra is working hard to accumulate some chips, and recently collected a handy pot against four other opponents on a board of {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Spades}. A player in the small blind led out for 700 and Elezra raised it to 2,100 to force all of his opponents out of the pot.

Elezra now sits with 5,500 chips.

"Seat Open!"

The Day 1b field continues to shrink at a rapid rate. Out of the 1,881 players who started the day, less than a third remain as we start Level 6. The average stack is approaching 10,000. With limits up to 200/400/50, the bust-outs should continue at a rapid-fire rate.

We will be playing tonight until about 16 minutes into level 9, the point at which the tournament stopped last night.

Zolotow Racing to the Top

Steve Zolotow has been collecting chips at an alarming rate. Most recently, he got all of his opponent's chips in the middle in a classic race situation -- Zolotow's pocket jacks against his opponent's Big Slick. The board ran out ten-high and Zolotow busted the player. He moved to approximately 24,000.
