Cho Rallies

Steve Cho and Edgar Renteria got all the chips in preflop. Cho showed {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds} ; Renteria had {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

"That's a made-for-TV flop," joked Cho.

A {5-Clubs} on the turn made a set for Cho. The river blanked and Cho increased his stack to about 250,000.

A Bit of Clarification

We've just learned that the "surveillance delay" was in fact due to an auditing issue. Apparently during the race off, it was learned that the total value of chips put on the table didn't match the total value of chips taken off the table. After checking the surveillance video, it was discovered that Aaron Coulthard had received an additional T25,000 chip during the race off.

Tournament officials apologized for the mistake, and demonstrated to Coulthard how the mistake happened. He politely disagreed and asked to see the tape. Tournament officials informed him that would not be possible and he asked them to please check again. He was told that the footage would indeed be double-checked, but the chip in question was eventually taken out of play.

Jesus Not Done Yet

From under the gun, Chris Ferguson picked up {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} and moved all in with his 28,000-chip short stack. To his left, Michael Ium reraised to 100,000 and successfully isolated Ferguson to get heads-up. Ium showed down {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The board ragged off {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and Ferguson is headed in the right direction. He is up to 75,000, after having a paltry 19,000 just before the break.

Todd Holley Eliminated

After a few reraises preflop, Todd Holley was all in against Melvin Jones. The players showed:

Jones: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Holley: {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

The board filled out {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {J-Spades} giving Holley top two pair but Jones the nut straight. Holley headed for the payout table while Jones stacked his chips, which now approach 590,000.

Meeker Doubles Through Friedman

Anthony Meeker moved all in preflop for 55,000 with {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs}. Perry Friedman called with {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}. Neither player improved on the flop. The turn {J-Clubs} made a pair of jacks for Friedman but also gave Meeker a flush draw. The flush filled when the river came {Q-Clubs}.

Friedman drops to 420,000. Meeker is up to 120,000.
