Short Stacks Refuse to Die

Theo Tran raised to 45,000 from the cutoff. Sitting in the big blind, Chris Ferguson pushed all in for his last 202,000. Tran debated his action for three solid minutes before making the call and tabling {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. He was a 3-to-1 underdog to Ferguson's {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The board came {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} to allow Ferguson's inspired run to continue.

On the following hand, David Bach raised to 44,000 from early position. Ryan D'Angelo, on the button, reraised to 144,000. Bach called the raise and then bet his last 55,000 on a {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop. D'Angelo made the call, only to see the bad news: his {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} was far behind Bach's pocket kings. There was no help for D'Angelo from the turn or the river.

Bach and Ferguson now have approximately 420,000 in chips each.
