$2,000 Limit Hold'em: End of Day 1

The fixed structure in today's $2,000 Limit Hold'em event did not dissuade many players from playing fast today. Despite starting with 80 big blinds, the bust-outs came quickly, especially as the night wore on. By 11 p.m., half the field was gone. By the end of the day, it was down below a third.

Among the players that busted early in Day 1 action were Robert Williamson III, Joe Sebok, Marcel Luske, Ciaran O'Leary and Shaun Deeb. Making it past midnight, but still far from the money, were Eric "E-Fro" Froehlich, Aaron "NDGrinder" Steury, Cyndy Violette, Bill Chen, and Justin Bonomo.

The remaining 125 players face a long Day 2, as they play all the way down to a nine-person final table. The cash starts at 45 players. At the top of the leaderboard is Atlantic City regular Eric Buchman, but gaining on him is Stuart "The Donator" Paterson, Daniel Negreanu and JC Tran. All of them have stacks more than double the chip average and are in a good place heading into the next phase of the tournament.

Join us at 2 p.m. Pacific time for all the action!
