Scott Seiver's late surge as Thursday's Day 2 session drew to a close has given him the inside track on the bracelet in Event 21, $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em. Seiver has more than twice as many chips as his closest competitor, Rajesh Vohra, to begin the final. Here are the seat assignments, home towns, and starting chip counts for the nine finalists, who will each be chasing after the $755,891 first prize:

Scott Freeman raised to 41,000 and Scott Seiver reraised to 120,000. It was folded around to Freeman who announced all in and Seiver called.

Freeman held {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} to Seiver's {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}. The {7-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds} gave Freeman a flush draw to go with his overcards. The turn was the {5-Clubs}, opening the possibility of the board making a straight for the chop, but the river was the {7-Clubs} and Freeman was eliminated in ninth place.

Hand #4-- Dave Seidman

Dave Seidman raised to 42,000 and Adam Geyer called from the big blind. The flop came {2-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}, Geyer checked, and Seidman bet 50,000. Geyer called, and the turn was the {7-Diamonds}. Geyer bet 80,000 and Seidman called. The river was the {10-Spades}, Geyer thought a good bit before betting 140,000, and Seidman called. Seidman showed A-10 and Geyer mucked, giving Seidman the pot.
