Evan McNiff Eliminated

Evan McNiff, who has already gone deep in two World Series of Poker events this year, has been eliminated. McNiff was all in preflop with {A-Spades} {2-Hearts} and was called by a player who held {J-Spades} {2-Spades}. His opponent flopped a jack and McNiff failed to improve.

Hua Eliminates Gazes

Bill Gazes and C.K. Hua both turned boats on a board of {8-Spades} {3-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. All their chips went in the middle as Gazes showed pocket threes and Hua held A-8. Gazes was eliminated after the hand while Hua is up over 30,000.

Fast Day

We've had a total of 731 entries to today's event and we're already down to 620. That's 111 players lost within the first two levels of play. Play appears to be going fast as we continue to hear 'Seat Open!' from time to time. We're still awaiting official numbers and prize pool details, but as soon as we're given the scoop we'll post it.

Paul Wasicka Eliminated

Paul Wasicka was eliminated when a player in middle position raised preflop and Wasicka shoved all in with A-K. His opponent called and showed pocket sevens, which held up and eliminated Wasicka from today's field.

Issac Haxton has been Eliminated

Haxton called a 600 raise and when the flop came {8-Hearts} {3-Spades} {4-Clubs} the original raiser bet 1,000 and Haxton raised to 2,000. His opponent moved all in for 11,000 and Haxton called, only to find that his pocket nines were outflopped by his opponent's pocket eights. Haxton didn't catch a nine and he was eliminated.

Edler Doubles Up

A middle-position player made it 500 to go preflop and a late-position player raised to 1,400. Bill Edler came over the top for 5,400 more and the middle-position player folded while the late-position player moved all in for another 5,000 more. Edler called and showed {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts} while his opponent held A-K. Edler spiked a queen on the flop, which held up, boosting him to over 20,000.
