The Cowboy Blues

Kenna James is looking rather dejected with his head slumped in his hands, recent rounds seeing his stack sink down to the 26,000 mark.

James is now seated next to former bracelet winner Mark Vos, who currently has 40,700 in chips.

Khan Still Short

The big blind checks the {J-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} flop, and Hevad Khan on the button bets 3,200. Call.

The big blind checks again on the {10-Clubs} turn, but then folds when Khan goes all in for 10,400.

Khan creeping back into the game, but with a still less than half the average 20,000.

Khan Eliminated

Hevad Khan has busted. The small blind made it 3,000, and Khan in the big blind made it 7,000. The small blind went all in, and Khan called for 15,000 total with pocket jacks. The small blind was holding pocket nines, but hit another nine on the board to send Khan hurtling towards the rail.

Italian Pirate Fires the Bullets Amid Controversy

On the very last hand of the break, there was genuine controversy on the far table as Max Pescatori stumbled upon those dastardly American Airlines, {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}.

With the board reading {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Pescatori bet 10,000 only for his opponent to slide in the matching bet. Pescatori immediately flipped over his aces, only for his baffled opponent to ask, "Well, are you going to call?"

Equally confused, Pescatori inquired as to what his opponent was talking about.

"I said all in," he replied.

The tournament director was duly called in, but because nobody else had heard the declaration, the player was made to flat call only. However, if he wanted to win the pot, he had to reveal his hand.

He mucked.

Devilfish Heading South

Devilfish has taken a considerable hit somewhere along the line. Most recently, he doubled up short-stacked Gabe Costner, somehow getting it in preflop with {7-Hearts} {4-Hearts} against Costner's {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts}. As the board came down bricks for the Fish, he muttered, "I thought you had A-K."

Costner on 13,000 and still pretty desperate (shoved from the button the next hand as well, but didn't get any callers), Devilfish down to 23,000.
